Laboratory, Computer Program Audio-Visual Or Lecture Methods, Karin A. Ostrand
Journal of the Minnesota Academy of Science
A comparison is made of the relative learning effectiveness under several instructional methods: a laboratory approach, computer-programmed instruction, and audio-visual teaching, with the traditional lecture method as a control. No significant differences have been recorded relative to the different methods or sex of the students. Some indication of preference among the laboratory and computer groups for those activities is noted, but not sufficiently strong to be considered educationally significant.

The Role Expectations For The Division Director Of Education Of Seventh-Day Adventists : As Perceived By Seven Status Groups Within The Church, Timothy Vaughan Gorle
Dissertations
Problem: One of the most important and costly services provided by the Seventh-day Adventist Church is education. With a rapidly growing membership overseas and new nations sprouting up almost overnight, the need for adapting and fitting the Adventist educational mold to church school systems in these new nations is crucial.
In this context, the Division Director of Education appears to play a vital part, yet his role has not been clearly delineated. It is with a view to ascertaining what his role should be, that this study has been undertaken.
Method: The respondents drawn from eight overseas divisions as well …

Censorship In Iowa Schools, Janet Tibbets
Censorship In Iowa Schools, Janet Tibbets
Graduate Research Papers
Research for this study covers the 1974-1975 school year and the 1975-1976 school year. A comparison of the data collected from the two years will show that as the media centers become a more important and integral part of the school curriculum, their visibility will cause material in the centers to become more subject to question. There will therefore be an increase in censorship in the schools in the 1975-1976 school year. Research will also show that persons in the community who make complaints against material have common characteristics, such as religious background, educational level and membership in special interest …

Managing Human Services, Betsy W. Romain
Managing Human Services, Betsy W. Romain
Dissertations and Theses
Professional schools have realized for some time that there is an uncomfortable gap between the requirements of their academic curriculum and the realities of a professional job. The skills required, performance level and final product, are noticeably different in the academic world than in the work world. This void between what is required in school and what is required on the job, has become of increasing concern as larger numbers of academically qualified students compete for a decreasingly smaller number of jobs. Additionally, institutes of higher education, caught in current day fiscal realities, are under pressure from both students and …
