Report On Spending For Intercollegiate Athletics, Wku University Senate
Faculty Senate
The committee concludes there is no strong evidence linking successful athletic programs with either fund-raising activities or patterns of enrollment at Western Kentucky University. Moreover, we find that the established university budget has repeatedly failed to restrain spending in this area. As a result, intercollegiate athletics has persistently been plagued with budget overruns, especially in 1982-83 and 1983-84 when expenditures exceeded the budget by more than 20% each year. Winona Campus Life, Mass Communication Department
Winona Campus Life
Winona Campus Life was a weekly laboratory newspaper produced by the WSU Mass Communciation Department students and printed as a supplement to the Sunday Winona Daily News, which began in September 1983. The newspaper provided coverage of the four institutions of higher education in Winona: Winona State University, St. Mary's University, College of Saint Teresa, and Winona Area Vocational-Technical School. It was created to provide a place for Mass Communcation students to publish their articles and photographs with the idea of generating reader feedback, which is essential in journalism education.
