"The purpose of this research is to obtain such intermolecular potential functions for liquid argon and liquid mercury by use of the experimental radial density functions available for these two liquids over a wide range of temperatures. We shall introduce the notion of a correlation between the motions of atoms in neighboring cells in a cell theory of liquid structure, and derive a theoretical radial density function involving the intermolecular potential function for a pair of atoms in the liquid.
