Ecosystem services from farmland conservation are public good benefits. The value of these benefits is primarily measured using methods that determine the willingness to pay (WTP) for those benefits. Prairie strips, a farmland conservation practice, provide ecosystem services such as improved water quality, soil health, and biodiversity (Schulte et al., 2017). The state of Iowa is a major corn producer and contributes significant amounts of nitrogen and phosphorous to the Gulf of Mexico (Alexander et al., 2008). In order to solve the rescue problem of collapsed roadways in coal mines and improve the drilling speed of large-diameter rescue boreholes, the construction method of large-diameter borehole with pipe jacking technology was proposed. In order to expand the resource utilization of fly ash, research was conducted based on the fly ash of Yuanyang Lake Power Plant in the Ningdong Energy Chemical Industry Base. Specifically, the physical and chemical properties of fly ash were characterized and analyzed by means of scanning electron microscope, energy spectrum analysis and X-ray diffraction. Cement-based cementitious materials are the most common grouting materials for grouting engineering. This type of material has obvious water separation effect, and obtaining the quantitative formula of water separation thickness will be helpful to improve the calculation accuracy of slurry diffusion radius. By observing the water separation process of three admixtures, namely pyrophyllite powder (0%-35%), polyvinyl alcohol (0%-8%) and fly ash (0%-90%) in cement-based slurry, the water separating rate, stone formation rate, final water separation time and water separation thickness of the three admixtures were obtained. The ground source heat pump of buried pipeline is a major form of shallow thermal energy utilization, and the thermophysical properties of backfill materials, especially the thermal conductivity, are the key factors affecting the heat transfer efficiency of the heat pump system. In this paper, the variation law of thermal conductivity of the sand-barite powder samples at different barite powder mixing ratio (volume fraction) and saturation was studied. Dafosi mine field is a typical low-rank coalbed methane (CBM) field in Binchang mining area of Huanglong Jurassic. There are many coalbed methane wells in the field, but few researches are performed on the formation mechanism of coalbed methane. In this study, laboratory experiments were conducted on discrete physical models that mimic mining effects to better understand the impact of continuous changes in mining environments on seismic wave velocities. The discrete physical models are represented by concrete and granite cubic samples of different sizes with holes of different diameters filled and unfilled with cemented sand backfill of different cement-sand content ratios. The hole diameters range from 0 to 150 mm in block sizes ranging from 150 mm to 450 mm in increments of 75 mm. The increasing hole size mimics increasing extraction in the mine with time. The Mathews stability graph method was presented for the first time in 1980. This method was developed to assess the stability of open stopes in different underground conditions, and it has an impact on evaluating the safety of underground excavations. With the development of technology and growing experience in applying computer sciences in various research disciplines, mining engineering could significantly benefit by using Machine Learning. Climate Change Curricula In Alberta, Canada: An Intersectional Framing Analysis, Greg Lowan-Trudeau

This article is comprised of a climate change-focused framing analysis of proposed revisions to Alberta, Canada’s K-6 curriculum as an ideologically motivated manifestation of curricular epistemicide. Eisner’s three curricula—the explicit, implicit, and null—and scholarship related to intersectional climate and environmental justice, education, and communication provide the theoretical framework. This inquiry concludes with a critical discussion of and possible alternatives to the revised curriculum with further consideration of the implications for those involved with similar endeavours in other jurisdictions across Canada and around the world.
