Numerical Simulation Of Grout Diffusion Under Coal Seam Floor And Analysis Of Influencing Factors, Guo Yan, Gui Herong, Wei Jiuchuan, Hong Huang, Guo Xiangdong, Cui Yali, Ye Shuang, Li Jun
Coal Geology & Exploration
Ground high-pressure advanced regional grouting has become the preferred engineering method for the prevention and control of water disasters in coal mines. The diffusion mechanism of grout has received widespread attention, and the design of branch hole spacing mostly relies on the on-site experience, which has a certain degree of blindness and restricts the effectiveness and efficiency of the project. Based on the actual working conditions of grouting site in Hengyuan Coal Mine, Huaibei Coalfield, the numerical simulation was performed with the COMSOL Multiphysics software for the high-pressure grout diffusion in the floor area of the ground directional drilling coal …

Design And Application Of The 3d Model Interfaces Of The Integrated Intelligent Mine Control Platform, Zhang Jing
Coal Geology & Exploration
The production safety control platform for mines is used to present information on the centralized scheduling, real-time monitoring, risk prevention and control, operation and maintenance detection, and decision analysis of various equipment and automated, intelligent production systems for tunneling, mining, machinery, transportation, and ventilation during coal mine production. Accordingly, the interface design of the integrated intelligent mine control platform is particularly important for user experience. However, the current integrated automation systems for mines adopt monochrome configuration engineering plans and display a single interface effect of display and operation. By introducing the industrial design concepts and employing the 3D model interface …

Coal Geology & Exploration
Carbonate reservoirs show fractures and strong heterogeneity, leading to limited applications of a single logging or seismic method in fracture identification. Therefore, this study proposed a method for predicting fractures in carbonate reservoirs based on a fracture identification-sensitive log-seismic parameter (FISLSP) model, and the details are as follows: (1) Based on petrophysical analysis results, as well as formation micro-imaging (FMI) logs and the interpretations of fractures at well locations, this study established a segmental fracture identification-sensitive parameter (FISP) model for fractures at well locations; (2) Using the optimal seismic attributes of near-well seismic traces determined based on the high-quality fractured …

Research On Stability Of Rock Mass And +30 Level Surface Construction Works When Re-Exploiting The Seam H10 At Mong Duong Coal Mine, Vietnam, Tien Trung Vu, Doan Viet Dao
Journal of Sustainable Mining
The re-exploitation of coal seams located near the ground is one of the solutions to increase output, reduce mining investment costs, and avoid wasting coal resources. The re-exploitation of coal seams will also cause instability of the surrounding rock mass and may affect surface construction works. Through the process of re-exploiting the longwall in seam H10 at Mong Duong Coal Mine, the authors have studied and evaluated the stability of the rock mass and +30 level surface works (including fan station and gateroad). To achieve the results in this study, the numerical simulation model method and the analytical method were …

Time Variability Of Methane Extraction From Hard Coal Deposits In The Upper Silesian Coal Basin (Poland) In Relation To Geological And Mining Conditions, Sławomir Kędzior, Marcin Dreger
Journal of Sustainable Mining
The extraction and economical use of methane from coal mines in the Upper Silesian Coal Basin, Poland (USCB) have shown a variable tendency in recent decades, with numerous fluctuations from year to year. In 2021, approximately 286 million m3 of methane was collected from coal mines, which accounted for approximately 40% of the total emissions of this gas to mine workings. Due to the fact that the economical use of coal mine methane brings environmental, economic and work safety benefits, increasing its extraction is an urgent need. Trends in changes in the amount of mined methane in the entire USCB …

Prioritizing Proximity In Phasing Out Oil And Gas Extraction, Wyatt G. Sassman
Prioritizing Proximity In Phasing Out Oil And Gas Extraction, Wyatt G. Sassman
Connecticut Law Review
To avoid the most catastrophic impacts of climate change, most of the world’s oil and gas reserves must remain in the ground. In the United States, this would require a dramatic phaseout of oil and gas extraction nationwide over the coming decades. How could we accomplish this? While recent legal scholarship emphasizes the importance of a just transition away from oil and gas extraction, little work has been done to navigate the legal, political, and equity hurdles associated with phasing out oil and gas extraction.
This Article seeks to start this conversation by offering one way to approach phaseouts of …

In this study, MIP experiments were conducted on four samples of low-medium-rank coals. By comparing the mercury injection curves of samples with different particle sizes, as well as the macroscopic and microscopic characteristics of the samples before and after mercury injection, this study established a correction method for the mercury injection volume at the high-pressure stage and investigated the reliability of MIP experiments in determining the pore structure …

A Method For Identifying Karst Collapse Columns Based On An Improved Residual Network, Zhang Tian, Sun Lianying, Yang Yan, Tu Shuai, Wang Jinfeng
Coal Geology & Exploration
Coal mining areas have complex geological conditions, and it is critical to predict and identify karst collapse columns in these areas efficiently and accurately. Human-computer interaction is the most frequently employed to interpret karst collapse columns in traditional methods. However, with an increase in the exploration scale and the constant accumulation of generated data, the traditional manual interpretation of karst collapse columns cannot meet the demand for actual coal mining. To improve the identification accuracy of karst collapse columns, this study proposes a Collapse Column Identification Network (CINet) model, which takes the automatic recognition of karst collapse columns as binary …

Construction And Experimental Verification Of A Damage Constitutive Model Of Rocks Under Uniaxial Compression Considering Seepage Pressure, Song Zhanping, Wang Jiahui, Pan Hongwei, Yang Pengtao, Yang Tengtian, Tian Song
Coal Geology & Exploration
The construction of tunnels and underground projects in a water abundance environment is subjected to increasingly frequent construction accidents arising from the surrounding rock instability caused by groundwater infiltration. Therefore, establishing a damage constitutive model of rocks under uniaxial compression while considering seepage pressure is of great significance for guiding field construction. To characterize the stress-strain relationships in the process of uniaxial compression damage of rocks, this study introduced concepts such as the deformation model of porous rocks, pore aspect ratio, and self-consistent model and theories such as hydrochemical damage and Weibull distribution-based statistical damage into the original constitutive models …
