Eclogites And Eclogites: Oxygen Isotope Evidence Of A Shared Subduction Origin For Franciscan Eclogites And Moses Rock Eclogite Xenoliths, William F. Hoover
Eclogites And Eclogites: Oxygen Isotope Evidence Of A Shared Subduction Origin For Franciscan Eclogites And Moses Rock Eclogite Xenoliths, William F. Hoover
Honors Papers
Eclogites can be found in two distinct tectonic settings in the western USA: in the Franciscan Complex as tectonic blocks in a fossil accretionary wedge, and in the Navajo Volcanic Field as xenoliths in diatremes. Intra-crystal oxygen isotope analyses of garnets from these two settings provide important information on the source, composition and timing of fluid interactions in both eclogite settings. Because of the well-documented relationship between Franciscan subduction and the volcanism in the Navajo Volcanic Field, the samples in this study can be directly compared to determine if they share a common origin. The Navajo eclogites in this study …
Rock Properties And Internal Structure Of The San Andreas Fault Near ~ 3 Km Depth In The Safod Borehole Based On Meso- To Micro-Scale Analyses Of Phase Iii Whole Rock Core, Kelly Keighley Bradbury, James P. Evans

Geosciences Presentations
We examine the relationships between rock properties and structure within ~ 41 m of PHASE III whole-rock core collected from ~ 3 km depth along the SAF in the San Andreas Fault Observatory at Depth (SAFOD) borehole, near Parkfield, CA.
Lithostratigraphy Of Precambrian And Paleozoic Rocks Along Structural Cross Section Ky-1, Crittenden County To Lincoln County, Kentucky, Martin C. Noger, James A. Drahovzal
Lithostratigraphy Of Precambrian And Paleozoic Rocks Along Structural Cross Section Ky-1, Crittenden County To Lincoln County, Kentucky, Martin C. Noger, James A. Drahovzal
Report of Investigations--KGS
This east–west cross section across western Kentucky is one of a network of regional cross sections prepared by the Illinois Basin Consortium that illustrate the structural and stratigraphic framework of the Illinois Basin. The structural cross section uses wireline logs of deep tests, as well as proprietary reflection seismic data, to show the relationship of Paleozoic rocks to each other from the surface to the top of the Precambrian unconformity.
The line of the cross section extends east from the complexly faulted Western Kentucky Fluorspar District across the Moorman Syncline and the underlying Rough Creek Graben to the Cincinnati Arch …
Geologic Map Of Kentucky, Garland R. Dever Jr., M. C. Noger
Geologic Map Of Kentucky, Garland R. Dever Jr., M. C. Noger
Map and Chart--KGS
This map shows the geologic age of rocks and sediments at the surface in Kentucky. Sedimentary rocks, deposited from about 465 to 290 million years ago during the Ordovician, Silurian, Devonian, Mississippian, and Pennsylvanian Periods, crop out across the state. The rocks mainly consist of shale, limestone, sandstone, and siltstone. As shown in the cross sections, these surface rocks are underlain by older unexposed rocks of Precambrian, Cambrian, and Ordovician age.
Small bodies of igneous rocks were intruded into the state's bedrock about 270 million years ago during the Permian Period. They crop out in Elliott County of northeastern Kentucky, …

All U.S. Government Documents (Utah Regional Depository)
This open-file report contains the complete analyses of all rock, stream-sediment, and water samples collected and used by the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Bureau of Mines in the preparation of Open-File Report 80-1056 (Bush and Lane, 1980). In the tables that follow, Qls indicates a landslipped mass of any form or origin, and only the abbreviated name of rock units is used.
