A Guide To Mechanical Rangeland Regeneration, J. Addison
A Guide To Mechanical Rangeland Regeneration, J. Addison
Bulletins 4000 -
The main objective of this Bulletin is to describe mechanical methods of promoting rangeland regeneration and how to determine which is the most appropriate to use on any particular site. Mechanical regeneration methods are not 'quick fix' but may be used to advantage in some rangeland regeneration strategies.

Factors Affecting Atrazine Fate In North Central U.S. Soils, W. C. Koskinen, Sharon Clay
Factors Affecting Atrazine Fate In North Central U.S. Soils, W. C. Koskinen, Sharon Clay
Agronomy, Horticulture and Plant Science Faculty Publications
Atrazine (6-chloro-N-ethyl-N′-(l-methylethyl)-l,3,5-triazine-2,4-diamine) is a herbicide of the triazine family used for controlling broadleaf and some grassy weeds in corn and sorghum. Since its introduction in the late 1950s, atrazine has been a popular herbicide because it is relatively inexpensive and, in most cases, gives good season-long weed control. It can be applied pre-or postemergence and is often tank mixed with grass herbicides, such as alachlor (2-chloro-N-(2,6-diethylphenyl-N-(methoxymethyl)acetamide), metolachlor(2-chloro-N-(2-2ethyl-6-methylphenyl)-N-(2-methoxy-l-methylethyl) acetamide), butylate (S-ethyl bis(2-methylpropyl)carbamothioate), or EPTC (S-ethyl dipropylcarbamothioate), or with other broadleaf herbicides, such as dicamba (3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoic …

Bulletin 4307 - Grass Control In Pastures Using Herbicides, Alexandra Wallace
Bulletins 4000 -
This Bulletin discusses three methods for herbicide control of grasses in pastures:
- pasture manipulation, in the early stages of pasture growth;
- spray-topping late in the growing season; and
- hay freezing, late in the growing season.
Resource Inventory And Condition Survey Of The Ord River Regeneration Reserve, John De Salis
Resource Inventory And Condition Survey Of The Ord River Regeneration Reserve, John De Salis
Natural resources published reports
It is now some 33 years since the Ord River Regeneration Project, the largest and most ambitious of its kind in Australian rangelands, commenced.
During this time there have been a number of publications and miscellaneous reports about the project, but this publication is by far the most comprehensive produced to date. Although the field work was undertaken in 1981, the findings recorded here will stand in a good stead as a detailed account and reference work for years to come.
Much has changed within the Regeneration Reserve area since the project commenced. Cattle and feral donkey numbers have finally …
Bulletin 4274 - Tree Planting On The High Rainfall Coastal Plain, Don Bennett, Richard George
Bulletin 4274 - Tree Planting On The High Rainfall Coastal Plain, Don Bennett, Richard George
Bulletins 4000 -
Careful planning can mean the difference between the success or failure of a tree planting program . Healthy , well-e stablished trees stand a better chance of survival, grow faster and are more resistant to insect attack. The need for time-consuming watering in summer is also eliminated.
The high rainfall coastal plain extends from Perth to Busselton and inland to the Darling Scarp. It receives about 800 to 1000 mm annual rainfall.
Site preparation is ideally started in summer. For a winter planting, decide before March where to plant, which varieties and how many trees to plant. Early planning allows …

Response By Stylosanthes Hamata And S. Scabra To Phosphate On Three Soils In The North-Kimberley Of Western Australia, A Mcr Holm, Mario F. D'Antuono
Resource management technical reports
Legume herbage mass was maximized after two or three years application of 50 kg/ha double superphosphate for both Verano and Fitzroy on Red earth soils and for Fitzroy on Yellow lateritic soils. There was increased production of Verano up to the maximum fertilizer level. Both varieties responded in the second year to residual P following application in the first year but there were no responses in subsequent years.

Control of Rhizoctonia solani infection of potato stems and daughter tubers was demonstrated by preplanting applications of tolclofos-methyl (RIZOLEX TM) to either cut or round seed tubers. Yield of tubers from cut seed treated with Rizolex was increased over that of cut seed cured before planting bu not when seed was cut and planted the same day. Crops grown from round seed treated with Rizolex yielded higher than from untreated round seed.
Surface sterilization of seed tubers with Sodium hypochlorite was effective in reducing stem damage but not in reducing daughter tuber sclerotes. This indicates …
