Arkansas Water Resources Center Technical Reports
Helminth and crustacean parasites from 2,387 Micropterus dolomieui, M. punctulatus, and M. salmoides were utilized to monitor annual pre- and postimpoundment succession patterns spanning eight con- tinuous years in Beaver Reservoir, Arkansas. Incidence of infection by ichthyoparasites with direct life cycles (monogenetic trematodes, leeches, and crustaceans) generally increased following impoundment, although leeches remained relatively constant. Exceptions to this general pattern occurred. Incidence of ichthyoparasites with indirect life cycles (digenetic trematodes, cestodes, acanthocephalans, and nematodes) decreased immediately following impoundment with subsequent increases to a point equal or above that of preimpoundment, although exceptions occurred. Time for species adaptation to the reservoir …

KWRRI Research Reports
This report describes the work done during Part II of a project which had as its aim the development of a way to quantify those intangible values peculiar to a small stream and its watershed. Part I was concerned with an application of the "uniqueness concept" in the evaluation of fifty-eight Kentucky streams. The results of this effort are in Report #40, U. K. Water Resources Institute (1971).
During the second part of the project:
- A method was developed whereby peoples' preferences for natural landscapes could be measured. The method utilized projected color slides and a rating system based on …

Fisheries Report No Iv (6) - Report On The Current Status Of Crocodiles In Western Australia, H. Robert Bustard Dr
Fisheries Research Reports
The aim of the survey was fivefold,
(1) to determine the present abundance and composition of saltwater crocodile populations in Western Australia,
(2) to comment on the status of the freshwater crocodile in Western Australia following 7 years of total protection,
(3) to locate study area(s) for detailed work on crocodile biology,
(4) to investigate the feelings of people on the spot (especially shooters or ex-shooters) towards crocodile conservation, and
(5) to investigate law enforcement problems relating to crocodiles
Water Resources Of Tacoma, Washington, Richard Martin Glaser
Water Resources Of Tacoma, Washington, Richard Martin Glaser
Graduate Student Research Papers
This study explores the fresh water and hydroelectricity resources of the City of Tacoma, Washington. The history and development of the water supply and hydroelectric facilities is examined. One can see that the development of the water resources has been directly affected by the growth in population and industry and that the nearness to the city of development sites has been an aid in this development. With the amount of water available at present and the increase in hydro-electric facilities during this decade, the future outlook for Tacoma in the field of water resources seems bright.

Oxygen is the first immediate necessity of life and water is second. Both directly and indirectly and more than soil, water is our most basic resource. It is the universal solvent and without it there would be no life, and, of course, no agriculture and industry.
