Bbt Acoustic Alternative Top Bracing Cadd Data Set-Norev-2022jun28, Bill Hemphill Jul 2022

Bbt Acoustic Alternative Top Bracing Cadd Data Set-Norev-2022jun28, Bill Hemphill

STEM Guitar Project’s BBT Acoustic Kit

This electronic document file set consists of an overview presentation (PDF-formatted) file and companion video (MP4) and CADD files (DWG & DXF) for laser cutting the ETSU-developed alternate top bracing designs and marking templates for the STEM Guitar Project’s BBT (OM-sized) standard acoustic guitar kit. The three (3) alternative BBT top bracing designs in this release are
(a) a one-piece base for the standard kit's (Martin-style) bracing,
(b) 277 Ladder-style bracing, and
(c) an X-braced fan-style bracing similar to traditional European or so-called 'classical' acoustic guitars.

The CADD data set for each of the three (3) top bracing designs includes …

Unsupervised And Supervised Learning For Rna-Protein Interactions And Annotations, Kateland Sipe Apr 2021

Unsupervised And Supervised Learning For Rna-Protein Interactions And Annotations, Kateland Sipe

Honors Projects

This project analyzed the base and amino acid interactions and annotations through the use of unsupervised and supervised learning techniques. For unsupervised learning, clustering found the data was not able to be distinguished into clear groups which matched the original annotations through kmeans clustering and hierarchical clustering. For supervised learning, the use of random forest, glmnet, and deep learning neural networks were successful in creating accurate predictions. However, machine learning likely will not be able to replace the original complex program, but could be used for possible simplification.

Acid-Base Titration, David Pierre Jan 2019

Acid-Base Titration, David Pierre

Undergraduate Journal of Mathematical Modeling: One + Two

Titration is an analytical method used in biomedical sciences and analytical chemistry laboratories to determine the quantity or the concentration of a known or unknown substance. There are many kinds of titrations, but this investigation is fundamentally based on acid-base titration, in which the development of a mathematical titration model is explained and determined. In a titration experiment, the concentration and volume of the base added is proportionally equal to those of the acid. The concentration of the substance is determined by following this principle. Moreover, these calculations are usually approximate. Thus, the construction of a titration model is done …

Understanding Ageing In Older Australians: The Contribution Of The Dynamic Analyses To Optimise Ageing (Dynopta) Project To The Evidence Base And Policy, Kaarin Anstey, Allison Blelak, Carole Birrell, Colette Browning, Richard Burns, Julie Byles, Kim Kiely, Binod Nepal, Lesley Ross, David Steel, Timothy Windsor Dec 2012

Understanding Ageing In Older Australians: The Contribution Of The Dynamic Analyses To Optimise Ageing (Dynopta) Project To The Evidence Base And Policy, Kaarin Anstey, Allison Blelak, Carole Birrell, Colette Browning, Richard Burns, Julie Byles, Kim Kiely, Binod Nepal, Lesley Ross, David Steel, Timothy Windsor

Professor David Steel

Aim:  To describe the Dynamic Analyses to Optimise Ageing (DYNOPTA) project and illustrate its contributions to understanding ageing through innovative methodology, and investigations on outcomes based on the project themes. DYNOPTA provides a platform and technical expertise that may be used to combine other national and international datasets. Methods:  The DYNOPTA project has pooled and harmonised data from nine Australian longitudinal studies to create the largest available longitudinal dataset (n= 50652) on ageing in Australia. Results:  A range of findings have resulted from the study to date, including methodological advances, prevalence rates of disease and disability, and mapping trajectories of …

Base-Induced Decomposition Of Alkyl Hydroperoxides In The Gas Phase. Part 3. Kinetics And Dynamics In Ho + Ch3ooh, C2h5ooh, And Tert-C4h9ooh Reactions, Shuji Kato, G Barney Ellison, Veronica Bierbaum, Stephen J. Blanksby Oct 2012

Base-Induced Decomposition Of Alkyl Hydroperoxides In The Gas Phase. Part 3. Kinetics And Dynamics In Ho + Ch3ooh, C2h5ooh, And Tert-C4h9ooh Reactions, Shuji Kato, G Barney Ellison, Veronica Bierbaum, Stephen J. Blanksby

Stephen Blanksby

The ECO2 elimination reactions of alkyl hydroperoxides proceed via abstraction of an α-hydrogen by a base: X− + R1R2HCOOH → HX + R1R2CO + HO−. Efficiencies and product distributions for the reactions of the hydroxide anion with methyl, ethyl, and tert-butyl hydroperoxides are studied in the gas phase. On the basis of experiments using three isotopic analogues, HO− + CH3OOH, HO− + CD3OOH, and H18O− + CH3OOH, the overall intrinsic reaction efficiency is determined to be 80% or greater. The ECO2 decomposition is facile for these methylperoxide reactions, and predominates over competing proton transfer at the hydroperoxide moiety. The CH3CH2OOH …

Spectroscopic And Computational Study Of Β-Ethynylphenylene Substituted Zinc And Free-Base Porphyrins, John C. Earles, Keith C. Gordon, Adam W. I Stephenson, Ashton C. Partridge, David L. Officer Jan 2011

Spectroscopic And Computational Study Of Β-Ethynylphenylene Substituted Zinc And Free-Base Porphyrins, John C. Earles, Keith C. Gordon, Adam W. I Stephenson, Ashton C. Partridge, David L. Officer

Faculty of Science - Papers (Archive)

A series of tetraphenylporphyrins appended at the β-pyrrolic position with an ethynylphenylene- or ethynylpyridine-substituent have been subjected to spectroscopic and density functional theory (DFT) analyses. The mean absolute deviation between corresponding experimental and DFT-derived vibrational spectra is up to 10.2 cm -1, suggesting that the DFT B3LYP/6-31G(d) method provides an accurate model of the β-substituted porphyrin systems. The configuration interactions that give rise to prominent electronic absorptions have been calculated using time-dependant DFT (TD-DFT) and have been rationalized with reference to the energy and topology of DFT calculated molecular orbitals. As the electron withdrawing capacity of the β-substituent increases the …

Coyote-Food Base Relationships In Jackson Hole, Wyoming, John L. Weaver May 1977

Coyote-Food Base Relationships In Jackson Hole, Wyoming, John L. Weaver

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

I measured three variables of coyote-food base relationships in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, during the period July, 1973, to July, 1975. Field work provided estimates of relative coyote and prey abundance as well as observations on coyote feeding behavior during winter. Laboratory analysis of 1,500 coyote scats revealed feeding patterns while feeding trials with captive coyotes allowed refinement in interpretation of scat analysis.

Deer mice and chipmunks comprised most of the rodent biomass captured in traps in the fall, while ground squirrels accounted for much of the rodent biomass in the spring. Field voles declined from 1973 to 1974 throughout much …
