Preparation And Evaluation Techniques Of Porous Materials And Mixed Matrix Membranes For Targeted Co2 Separation Applications, Tsemre Tessema
Preparation And Evaluation Techniques Of Porous Materials And Mixed Matrix Membranes For Targeted Co2 Separation Applications, Tsemre Tessema
Theses and Dissertations
The use of porous sorbents for physisorptive capture of CO2 from gas mixtures has been deemed attractive due to the low energy penalty associated with recycling of such materials. Porous organic polymers (POPs) have emerged as promising candidates with potential in the treatment of pre- and post- fuel combustion processes to separate CO2 from gas mixtures. Concurrently, significant advances have been made in establishing calculation methods that evaluate the practicality of porous sorbents for targeted gas separation applications. However, these methods rely on single gas adsorption isotherms without accounting for the dynamic gas mixtures encountered in real-life applications. …
Stereoselective And Regioselective Synthesis Of $N$-Substituted Methyl 2-((Azolyl)Methyl)-3-Arylacrylates From Baylis-Hillman Acetates, Ayşen Köseceli̇ Özenç, İlhami̇ Çeli̇k, Şule Kökten
Stereoselective And Regioselective Synthesis Of $N$-Substituted Methyl 2-((Azolyl)Methyl)-3-Arylacrylates From Baylis-Hillman Acetates, Ayşen Köseceli̇ Özenç, İlhami̇ Çeli̇k, Şule Kökten
Turkish Journal of Chemistry
$N$-Substituted methyl 2-((azolyl)methyl)-3-arylacrylates were synthesized stereo- and regioselectively with one-pot reaction between Baylis--Hillman acetates and a suitable acylazole in the presence of K$_{2}$CO$_{3}$ as a base catalyst. The targeted $N$-substituted azole acrylates were efficiently obtained in good yields (39%-89%).

In this study, a series of benzimidazole-piperidine derivatives were synthesized with the objective of developing potent antinociceptive agents. Some 2-(4-substituted-phenyl)-1-[2-(piperidin-1-yl)ethyl]-1$H$-benzimidazole derivatives were obtained by microwave-supported reaction of an appropriate 2-(4-substituted-phenyl)-1$H$-benzimidazole with 2-(piperidine-1-yl)ethyl chloride. The chemical structures of the compounds were elucidated by FT-IR, $^{1}$H NMR, $^{13}$C NMR, and HRMS spectral data. Antinociceptive activity was assessed by conducting hot-plate, paw-pressure, and formalin tests. Morphine (5 mg/kg, i.p) was used as a reference drug. Among the tested compounds 2a-2d and 2f-2h (10 mg/kg) increased the maximum possible effect (MPE) % values calculated for the hot-plate and paw-pressure tests and decreased the paw …
