Business processes in the global environment increasingly encompass multiple partners and complex, rapidly changing requirements. In this context it is critical that strategic business objectives align with and map accurately to systems that support flexible and dynamic business processes. To support the demanding requirements of global business processes, we propose a comprehensive, unifying 4 X 4 Semantic Model that uses Semantic Templates to link four tiers of implementation with four types of semantics. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan model Neural Network (NN) dengan regresi logistik dalam memodelkan masalah klasifikasi pada kasus masa studi mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Matematika FMIPA UNY, dan mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi masa studi mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Matematika FMIPA UNY. Subyek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Matematika yang lulus sejak Agustus 2001 hingga November 2005. Jumlah responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 319 orang. Makalah ini membahas masalah penghitungan premi untuk asuransi kendaraan bermotor berdasarkan sejarah frekuensi klaim pemegang polis menggunakan analisis Bayes. Dilihat dari sudut pandang pemegang polis, premi yang dihasilkan bersifat adil, karena premi yang harus dibayarkan pada saat perpanjangan polis proporsional dengan taksiran frekuensi klaimnya. Sementara itu, dilihat dari sudut pandang perusahaan asuransi, akan menghasilkan keseimbangan finansial. Sebagai bahan aplikasi digunakan data klaim pemegang polis asuransi kendaraan bermotor dari salah satu perusahaan asuransi yang berdomisili di Bandung.

[1] A worldwide compilation of atmospheric total phosphorus (TP) and phosphate (PO4) concentration and deposition flux observations are combined with transport model simulations to derive the global distribution of concentrations and deposition fluxes of TP and PO4. Our results suggest that mineral aerosols are the dominant source of TP on a global scale (82%), with primary biogenic particles (12%) and combustion sources (5%) important in nondusty regions. Globally averaged anthropogenic inputs are estimated to be ∼5 and 15% for TP and PO4, respectively, and may contribute as much as 50% to the deposition over the oligotrophic ocean where productivity may …

A prototype of a web-based interface for an online database was developed to be used by youth organizations in Dar-es-Salaam. A participatory approach involving secondary students in the identification of user interface requirements, in designing and testing the prototype was used. A questionnaire was designed and manned in seven secondary schools in Dar-es-Salaam to estimate the Internet usage. Interviews were conducted to countercheck the questionnaire responses. A technique is described to use measured vibration data of a rotating machine and its foundation to identify unbalanced forces, stiffness and damping parameters of the mountings, and the parameters of the foundation. It is based on an idealisation treating the rotor, the machine structure and the foundation as rigid masses supported by springs and dampers. Results from multivariate statistical analysis of abiotic parameters conducted during the dry season at 20 accessible sites on 8 rivers, 2 lakes and a dam covering the Lake Tanganyika sub catchment are discussed. Standard methods were used to determine the levels of abiotic parameters from water samples. Physical parameters including DO, EC, Eh, turbidity, temperature, pH and secchi transparency were measured in situ while chlorophyll a was determined in the laboratory. Nutrients such as NO3-, SiO2, PO4 3- and Fe2+ were determined along with HCO3-. We present a new method for articulating scale-dependent topological descriptions of the network structure inherent in many complex systems. The technique is based on “partition decoupled null models,” a new class of null models that incorporate the interaction of clustered partitions into a random model and generalize the Gaussian ensemble. A promising avenue in the development of high-energy pulsed chemical HF/DF lasers and amplifiers is the utilization of a photon-branched chain reaction initiated in a two-phase active medium, that is, a medium containing a laser working gas and ultradispersed passivated metal particles. These particles are evaporated under the action of IR laser radiation which results in the appearance of free atoms, their diffusion into the gas, and the development of a photon-branching chain process, which involves photons as both reactants and products. The June 2008 Flare Of Markarian 421 From Optical To Tev Energies, P. T. Reynolds, Et Al

We present optical, X-ray, high-energy (30 GeV) and very high energy (100 GeV; VHE) observations of the high-frequency peaked blazar Mrk 421 taken between 2008 May 24 and June 23. A high-energy γ-ray signal was detected by AGILE with between June 9 and 15, with F(E>100 MeV) = 42+14 –12 × 10–8 photons cm–2 s–1. This flaring state is brighter than the average flux observed by EGRET by a factor of ~3, but still consistent with the highest EGRET flux. In hard X-rays (20-60 keV) SuperAGILE resolved a five-day flare (June 9-15) peaking at ~55 mCrab. SuperAGILE, …

A number of research challenges in the area of program comprehension are presented. the expressiveness and effectiveness of program comprehension are discussed, and research directions are organized along these two axes. Both fundament research issues are raised along with new applications for program comprehension methods. the work advocates the investigation of better measures, further empirical studies, and controlled experiments to assess the effectiveness of program comprehension techniques © 2008 IEEE.

PolC is the polymerase responsible for genome duplication in many Gram-positive bacteria and represents an attractive target for antibacterial development. We have determined the 2.4-Å resolution crystal structure of Geobacillus kaustophilus PolC in a ternary complex with DNA and dGTP. The structure reveals nascent base pair interactions that lead to highly accurate nucleotide incorporation. A unique β-strand motif in the PolC thumb domain contacts the minor groove, allowing replication errors to be sensed up to 8 nt upstream of the active site. Safety assessment in drug development involves numerous statistical challenges, and yet statistical methodologies and their applications to safety data have not been fully developed, despite a recent increase of interest in this area. In practice, a conventional univariate approach for analysis of safety data involves application of the Fisher's exact test to compare the proportion of subjects who experience adverse events (AEs) between treatment groups; This approach ignores several common features of safety data, including the presence of multiple endpoints, longitudinal follow-up, and a possible relationship between the AEs within body systems.
