Study Of Volcanic Sediments By Microbeam-Pixe Technique, Nazrul I. Khandaker, M. Ahmed, M. A. Garwan

Publications and Research

Single mineral grains in a suite of Cretaceous (85–90 Ma) volcanic sedimentary rocks were analyzed using the microbeam-PIXE technique to understand fundamental geological processes responsible for micro-scale variation in elemental composition across mineral zones, twinning, cleavage planes, fractures and grain boundaries. Distributions of major and trace elements show distinct geochemical features indicative of a specific geological setting and a subsequent diagenetic process in these volcanic sediments. Examples of mineral zoning, microstructures of variable chemistry and post-depositional fluid flow are discussed using the data on feldspar group of minerals.

Final Environmental Impact Statement Expanded Moxa Arch Area Natural Gas Development Project, Sweetwater, Lincoln, And Uinta Counties, Wyoming, United States Department Of The Interior Bureau Of Land Management

Final Environmental Impact Statements (WY)

The Expanded Moxa Arch Area Natural Gas Development Project EIS analyzes a proposal by the Moxa Arch operators (Amoco Production Company, Union Pacific Resources Company, Wexpro/Celsius Energy Company, Bannon Energy, Marathon Oil Company, Presidio Exploration, and other companies) to continue to infill drill additional development wells in their leased acreage within the Moxa Arch oil and gas development area. The project area encompasses approximately 476,261 acres of southwestern Wyoming. Lands associated with the additional drilling program include those previously analyzed in the Amoco Production Company Moxa Arch Natural Gas Production Environmental Assessment (EA) and Decision Record (DR) (USDI-BLM 1991) and …

Fontenelle Natural Gas Infill Drilling Projects, Sweetwater And Lincoln Counties, Wyoming, Final Environmental Impact Statement, United States Department Of The Interior Bureau Of Land Management

Final Environmental Impact Statements (WY)

DALEN Resources Oil & Gas Co. (DALEN Operator) and Cabot Oil & Gas Corp., Presidio Oil Co., and several other companies (collectively the Lincoln Road Operators) propose to continue infill drilling their existing lease acreage (collectively approximately 179,760 acres) within the Fontenelle II and Lincoln Road development areas. The Fontenelle II and the Lincoln Road development areas are immediately adjacent to each other. Both proposed actions would be implemented in northeastern Lincoln and northwestern Sweetwater counties, Wyoming adjacent to and east of Fontenelle Reservoir and the Green River. The project areas are approximately 30 miles northeast of Kemmerer, Wyoming and …

Decision Record And Finding Of No Significant Impact For Sodium Leasing In The Green River Basin Of Southwestern Wyoming, United States Department Of The Interior Bureau Of Land Management

Record of Decisions (WY)

The BLM is charged with leasing federal mineral resources. BLM is proposing to hold a sodium lease sale of seven tracts incorporating a total of 9,893.91 acres as shown on Map 1. Federal sodium leases are issued based upon a system of closed competitive bids. The highest bidder may receive the lease provided the bid meets or exceeds fair market value. Leases have a 20-year primary term with discretionary 10-year renewal periods thereafter. A federal sodium lease is not automatically renewed but may be renewed upon the lessee's timely request for renewal. All leases adjudicated for renewal are reviewed and …

Record Of Decision For Fontenelle Natural Gas Infill Drilling Projects Environmental Impact Statement, Sweetwater And Lincoln Counties, Wyoming, United States Department Of The Interior Bureau Of Land Management

Record of Decisions (WY)

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) approves the Fontenelle Projects Resource Protection Alternatives (RPAs) for natural gas development and production. Approval of the RPAs provides for managing the area, in accordance with the Federal Land Policy and Management Act (Sec. 202(e)), in a manner that allows for natural gas development while continuing to provide for the existing principal and major uses (i.e., domestic livestock grazing, fish and wildlife development and utilization, mineral exploration and production, rights-of-way, and outdoor recreation) recognized by the land use plan for this area. The RPAs balance the multiple uses and sustains the long-term yield of …
