Study On The Main Controlling Geological Factors Of High Yield Deep Cbm In Southern Yanchuan Block, Gao Yuqiao, Li Xin, He Xipeng, Chen Zhenlong, Chen Gang
Coal Geology & Exploration
The Southern Yanchuan Block belongs to a deep, high-rank coalbed methane(CBM) reservoir. Due to the influence of geological conditions, the single well productivity varies greatly. Researching on the main controlling geological factors and their changing mechanism of CBM accumulation, combined with the dynamic data of CBM development, the main controlling geological factors of the CBM well enrichment and high production are analyzed. The research results show that the productivity of the gas field is controlled by the geological factors of “tectonic, hydrology, coal structure”. Tectonic restricts the accumulation of CBM; the degree of salinity characterizes affects the preservation of CBM; …

Physical-Chemical Characterization And Heavy Metals Assessment Of Waters And Sediments Of Sebou Watershed (Top Sebou, Morocco), Mohamed Kabriti, Eda Mahougnon Léonce, Chaimaa Merbouh, Bensaber Abdelfattah, Abdelmajid Achkir, Abdlhakim Aouragh, Iounes Nadia
Karbala International Journal of Modern Science
The main purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of human activities, geochemical background and seasons on pollutant pathway. Surface water, groundwater and sediments were assessed to highlight and confirm those impacts. Sixteen physico-chemical parameters were measured (T°, pH, O2, salinity, conductivity, BOD5, COD, SM, Cl-, NO2-, NO3-, NH4+, TAC, TH, SO₄²- and PO43-) and twelve metallic trace elements were analyzed (Ar, Cr, Zn, Mn, Ni, Fe, Al, Cd, Cu, Pb, K and Na). Five sampling campaigns were carried out in 18 sampling points for over one year, between July 2018 and July 2019 in the upstream part …
Effects Of Stormwater Green Infrastructure On Watershed Outflow: Does Spatial Distribution Matter?, Benjamin Fahy, Heejun Chang
Effects Of Stormwater Green Infrastructure On Watershed Outflow: Does Spatial Distribution Matter?, Benjamin Fahy, Heejun Chang
International Journal of Geospatial and Environmental Research
Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) has become a popular method in urban stormwater management. We examined how spatial distribution of GSI affected rainfall-runoff relationships in a recently developed neighborhood in Gresham, Oregon, USA for the 2017-2018 water year. Runoff ratio, peak discharge, and flashiness were compared under four precipitation scenarios (of differing intensity and duration) and different spatial arrangements of GSI. Distributed GSI reduced runoff ratio (10 - 20%), peak discharge (26 - 68%), and flashiness index (56 - 70%). Distributed GSI outperformed centralized structures for all metrics, reducing runoff ratio (22 - 32%), peak discharge 67 to 69%, and flashiness …

Creation Of A Numerical Mathematical Model Of Geofiltration Processes And Its Adaptation For Solving Epignosic And Forecast Problems (In Terms Of Gurlen District Of Khorezm Region), Tolkun Mirakhmedov
Bulletin of National University of Uzbekistan: Mathematics and Natural Sciences
The article considers the creation of a mathematical model of geofiltration processes in Gurlen District. Methods for calculating and developing a mathematical model and algorithms were carried out, and applied software was developed, and the developed geofiltration mathematical model was adapted to solve the epignosic and forecast problems of the area under consideration.
Hydrologic And Microclimate Characterizations Of Thornton’S Cave, West-Central Florida (Usa), Dorien K. Mcgee
Hydrologic And Microclimate Characterizations Of Thornton’S Cave, West-Central Florida (Usa), Dorien K. Mcgee
Studia UBB Geologia
A cave’s environment is controlled by a suite of factors unique to the environments in which they formed, including, but not limited to, regional geologic and climate settings. These factors collectively owe to wide variations in cave biology, geomorphology and overall speleogenesis. This report combines local climate, hydrologic, and CO2 data collected over the course of a two-year study at Thornton’s Cave, a partially-flooded cave in the West-Central Florida karst belt, to characterize its current environment and yield insight regarding how changes in regional climate and hydrology impact its past and future speleogenesis. Data loggers continuously monitoring cave and …

Investigation Of Water Masses In İzmir Bay, Western Turkey, Erdem Sayin, İdi̇l Pazi, Canan Eronat
Investigation Of Water Masses In İzmir Bay, Western Turkey, Erdem Sayin, İdi̇l Pazi, Canan Eronat
Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences
The main purpose of this paper is to explore seasonal variability of the local hydrography and investigate the water masses, their seasonal and regional variations in the vicinity of İzmir Bay based on data sets collected between 1994 and 2003. The general water movement characteristics in the bay are provided by CTD data analysis together with Killworth's general circulation model. In the bay, three distinct water masses exist: ASW (Aegean Sea water), IBW (İzmir Bay water) and IBIW (İzmir Bay inner water). Generally, vertically homogenous ASW enters the bay from the north, near Karaburun in winter, and horizontally homogeneous ASW …
Hydrogeology Of Hanging Bog State Preserve: The Role Of Hillside Seeps In Draining The Iowan Surface, William L. Niemann
Hydrogeology Of Hanging Bog State Preserve: The Role Of Hillside Seeps In Draining The Iowan Surface, William L. Niemann
Journal of the Iowa Academy of Science: JIAS
Along the margin of the Cedar River Valley, groundwater discharges from eroded and weathered glacial materials of the Iowan Surface to modern alluvial deposits of the valley floor. Hanging Bog State Preserve, located along this topographic, geologic, and hydrologic boundary, represents one such groundwater discharge location, in the form of a perennial hillside seep. Based on detailed monitoring of surface water and groundwater levels within the preserve for a one-year period, it is shown that a significant quantity of groundwater, collected from a disproportionately large recharge area, is funneled to the valley wall at this site and subsequently carried to …
Degradation Of Remnant Vegetation, Richard George, Don Mcfarlane, Russell Speed
Degradation Of Remnant Vegetation, Richard George, Don Mcfarlane, Russell Speed
Journal of the Department of Agriculture, Western Australia, Series 4
Remnant vegetation, wetlands and riverine systems on both private and public land throughout south-western Australia are being rapidly degraded by dryland salinity, inundation, silting, nutrient enrichment and weed invasion. Richard George, Don McFarlane and Russel Speed outline some of the reasons why this is happening and provide some case studies that highlight actions to protect these remnants.
A Hydrologic Model For Minnesota Peatlands, Kenneth N. Brooks, Dawn R. Kreft
A Hydrologic Model For Minnesota Peatlands, Kenneth N. Brooks, Dawn R. Kreft
Journal of the Minnesota Academy of Science
ABSTRACT-The Peatland Hydrologic Impact Model (PHIM) is a continuous simulation computer model developed over a twelve-year period to aid hydrologists in understanding the hydrologic functions of peatlands and upland-peatland watersheds. An initial conceptual model defined the research needed to create the working m?del. The re~e_arch has become an iterative process of model design, field work, model refinement, ~ode! test1?g, an~ add1t1?nal field work. The model is as physically-based as possible while relying on data mput that 1s readily available to the natural resources community. It simulates streamflow response of peatlands, upland-peatland systems, mined peatlands, and a combination of these watershed …
