Surface Treatments' Effects On The Capacitor's Dielectric Performance Under Electro-Thermal Stresses, Haider. M. Umran, Feipeng Wang

Karbala International Journal of Modern Science

Biaxial-oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films are characterized by unfavorable aging behavior because of their poor susceptibility to high temperatures, humidity, and high electric fields. This makes them unqualified to withstand harsh operating conditions, such as in capacitor applications. This study investigates the impact of annealing BOPP samples at 100 °C for five hours after fluorination at different times (15, 30, and 60 minutes) on their electrical and mechanical performance under electro-thermal stresses. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) images confirm that there is an increase in surface roughness and the formation of a dense layer of fluorine-containing groups monotonically with fluorination time. So, …

Research On Three-Component Responses Characteristics Of Axial Anisotropy Tunnel-Hole Transient Electromagnetic, Guo Jianlei, Gao Xiaowei, Hou Yanwei

Coal Geology & Exploration

Large interpretation errors may exist in exploration areas with obvious conductivity anisotropy when applying tunnel-hole transient electromagnetic method. In this paper, the control equation is built by introducing the conductivity anisotropy tensor, which allows the current density of the rectangular loop source to be added into the Maxwell equation Ampere loop theorem based on the finite difference time domain (FDTD) algorithm in order to realize the loading of any current source. The control equation is discretized by the difference instead of the differential to realize the forward calculation of the tunnel-hole transient electromagnetic 3D model. Forward modeling is carried out …

Influence Of The Temperature To The Growth Of Thin Film Sno2, A.G. Gulyamov, M.U. Xajiev, X.N Juraev

Bulletin of Gulistan State University

The SnO2 thin films on glass substrate grown by methods of chemical vapor deposition (CVD) in conditions of quasiclosed volume by using a separate evaporator to obtain a saturated are investigated. It is suggested that under these conditions the germ growth occurs by diffusion coalescence. In the IR absorption spectra of SnO2 films, an absorption band in the range of 2500-3800 cm-1 is detected, the amplitude of which is correlated with the conductivity of the grown films.

Investigation On The Electrical Properties Of Cdo/Zno Thin Films Using Thz Spectroscopy, Ramon Molina

Macalester Journal of Physics and Astronomy

In this work, we study the electrical properties of transparent conducting oxides using physical and optical techniques. The objective is to characterize the conductivity of a series of cadmium oxide zinc-oxide thin films with varying cadmium concentrations using three methods. The Hall Effect estimates carrier concentration, sheet conductivity, and carrier mobility. Optical methods, such as FTIR spectroscopy, can provide estimates of the plasma frequency, which describes a metal’s transition from being transparent to opaque to light. THz spectroscopy extracts the complex conductivity of materials in the far infrared spectrum and provides insights on the optical transport properties of conductors. Our …

Conductivity Measurements Of A Thermoelectric Nanomaterial Through Thz Spectroscopy, Michaela S. Koller, James Heyman, Gunnar Footh

Macalester Journal of Physics and Astronomy

In today’s society there is a great demand on energy output—in the United States alone we rely heavily on non-renewable energy sources. Thermoelectric materials may be able to be used to create more efficient energy systems or recover wasted heat from inefficient technologies. This paper focuses on the conductivity of a new thermoelectric material that incorporates copper into a tellurium nanowire PEDOT:PSS material. The addition of copper seems to increase the conductivity of the material, although the exact relationship between the percentage of copper to tellurium and its affect on the conductivity is uncertain from the results.

Proton Conduction In Pvpa --Benzimidazole Hybrid Electrolytes, Fatma Sevi̇l, Ayhan Bozkurt

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

Proton conducting properties of benzimidazole (BnIm) doped poly(vinylphosphonic acid) (PVPA) were studied. The doping ratio, x, which is the number of moles of BnIm per mole of polymer repeat unit, varied from 0.5 to 2. The samples were characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TG), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and impedance spectroscopy. The IR study indicates the protonation of heterocyclic units from the "free nitrogen" side. The proton conductivity and thermal stability of the blends increase with x. Maximum conductivity of PVPA x BnIm blends is approximately 10^{-3} S/cm at 150 °C.

Defect Structure And Properties Of Sr-Doped La Cr O_{3-\Delta}, Mahmoud Omari, Ilhem Chadli, Salah Belaidi

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

A defect chemical model for the behavior of acceptor-doped LaCrO_3 as a function of oxygen pressure is proposed. This is considered within the regime that corresponds to oxygen deficit oxygen. The mathematical approach allows us to calculate the oxygen partial pressure dependant properties of La_{1-x} Sr_x Cr O_{3-\delta} in the range 0.10 \le x \le 0.30. The results show that the conductivity was independent of pO_2 and was proportional to the dopant concentration at high pO_2. Therefore, under reducing conditions, the conductivity decreased exponentially with decreasing pO_2 and asymptotically approached a pO_2^{1/4} relationship. Stability regimes and compensation mechanisms at various …

Thermodynamics Of The Dissociation Of Chromium Soap Solutions In Benzene-Dimethyl Formamide, Hüseyi̇n Topallar, Yüksel Bayrak

Turkish Journal of Chemistry

Critical micelle concentrations and dissociation constants for chromium soaps (myristate, palmitate and stearate) in a mixture of benzene and dimethyl formamide (7:3, vol/vol) were determined by means of conductivity measurements. These soaps behave as simple moderate electrolytes in dilute solutions. Critical micelle concentrations and dissociation constants decreased with increasing numbers of carbon atoms in the soap molecules. Thermodynamic parameters such as heat of dissociation, \DeltaH_d, change in free energy, \DeltaG_d, and entropy, \DeltaS_d, per mole for the dissociation process were also evaluated.
