A Note On The Associated Primes Of Local Cohomology Modules For Regular Local Rings, Yubin Gao Jan 2018

A Note On The Associated Primes Of Local Cohomology Modules For Regular Local Rings, Yubin Gao

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

Let $R$ be a regular local ring. In this note, we prove that $Ass_RH^2_I(R)$ is finite for any ideal $I$ of $R$. We also give a sufficient condition for $Ass_RH^3_{(x,y,z)}(R)$ to be finite for $x, y$ an $R$-regular sequence and $z\in R$, which would imply that Lyubeznik's conjecture is true in the regular local rings case.

On $3$-Dimensional $\Jt$-Tangent Centro-Affine Hypersurfaces And $\Jt$-Tangent Affine Hyperspheres With Some Null-Directions, Zuzanna Szancer Jan 2018

On $3$-Dimensional $\Jt$-Tangent Centro-Affine Hypersurfaces And $\Jt$-Tangent Affine Hyperspheres With Some Null-Directions, Zuzanna Szancer

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

Let $\Jt$ be the canonical para-complex structure on $\R^4$. In this paper we study $3$-dimensional centro-affine hypersurfaces with a $\Jt$-tangent centro-affine vector field (sometimes called $\Jt$-tangent centro-affine hypersurfaces) as well as $3$-dimensional $\Jt$-tangent affine hyperspheres with the property that at least one null-direction of the second fundamental form coincides with either $\DD^+$ or $\DD^-$. The main purpose of this paper is to give a full local classification of the above-mentioned hypersurfaces. In particular, we prove that every nondegenerate centro-affine hypersurface of dimension $3$ with a $\Jt$-tangent centro-affine vector field that has two null-directions $\DD^+$ and $\DD^-$ must be both an …

On A New Subclass Of Bi-Univalent Functions Defined By Using Salagean Operator, Bi̇lal Şeker

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In this manuscript, by using the Salagean operator, new subclasses of bi-univalent functions in the open unit disk are defined. Moreover, for functions belonging to these new subclasses, upper bounds for the second and third coefficients are found.

Existence Of Solution For Some Two-Point Boundary Value Fractional Differential Equations, Kenneth Ifeanyi Isife Jan 2018

Existence Of Solution For Some Two-Point Boundary Value Fractional Differential Equations, Kenneth Ifeanyi Isife

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

Using a fixed point theorem, we establish the existence of a solution for a class of boundary value fractional differential equation. Secondly, we will adopt the method of successive approximations to obtain an approximate solution to our problem. Furthermore, using the Laplace transform technique, an explicit solution to a particular case of our problem is obtained. Finally, some examples are given to illustrate our results.

When Is A Permutation Of The Set $\Z^N$ (Resp. $\Z_P^N$, $P$ Prime) An Automorphism Of The Group $\Z^N$ (Resp. $\Z_P^N$)?, Ben-Eben De Klerk, Johan H. Meyer

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

For a given positive integer $n$, the structure, i.e. the number of cycles of various lengths, as well as possible chains, of the automorphisms of the groups $(\Z^n, +)$ and $(\Z_p^n,+)$, \ $p$ prime, is studied. In other words, necessary and sufficient conditions on a bijection $f : A \ra A$, where $ A $ is countably infinite (alternatively, of order $p^n$), are determined so that $A$ can be endowed with a binary operation $*$ such that $(A,*)$ is a group isomorphic to $(\Z^n,+)$ (alternatively, $(\Z_p^n,+)$) and such that $f\in \Aut(A)$.

Generalized Metric $N$-Leibniz Algebras And Generalized Orthogonal Representation Of Metric Lie Algebras, Rong Tang, Lina Song Jan 2018

Generalized Metric $N$-Leibniz Algebras And Generalized Orthogonal Representation Of Metric Lie Algebras, Rong Tang, Lina Song

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

We introduce the notion of a generalized metric $n$-Leibniz algebra and show that there is a one-to-one correspondence between generalized metric $n$-Leibniz algebras and faithful generalized orthogonal representations of metric Lie algebras (called Lie triple datas). We further show that there is also a one-to-one correspondence between generalized orthogonal derivations (resp. generalized orthogonal automorphisms) on generalized metric $n$-Leibniz algebras and Lie triple data.

Some Characterizations Of Right $C$-Regularity And $(B,C)$-Inverse, Ruju Zhao, Hua Yao, Long Wang, Junchao Wei Jan 2018

Some Characterizations Of Right $C$-Regularity And $(B,C)$-Inverse, Ruju Zhao, Hua Yao, Long Wang, Junchao Wei

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

Let $R$ be a ring and $a,b,c\in R$. We give a novel characterization of group inverses (resp. EP elements) by the properties of right (resp. left ) $c$-regular inverses of $a$ and discuss the relation among the strongly left $(b,c)$-invertibility of $a$, the right $ca$-regularity of $b$, and the $(b,c)$-invertibility of $a$. Finally, we investigate the sufficient and necessary condition for a ring to be a strongly left min-Abel ring by means of the $(b,c)$-inverse of $a$.

On The Solution Of An Inverse Sturm-Liouville Problem With A Delay And Eigenparameter-Dependent Boundary Conditions, Seyfollah Mosazadeh Jan 2018

On The Solution Of An Inverse Sturm-Liouville Problem With A Delay And Eigenparameter-Dependent Boundary Conditions, Seyfollah Mosazadeh

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In this paper, a boundary value problem consisting of a delay differential equation of the Sturm-Liouville type with eigenparameter-dependent boundary conditions is investigated. The asymptotic behavior of eigenvalues is studied and the parameter of delay is determined by eigenvalues. Then we obtain the connection between the potential function and the canonical form of the characteristic function.

Closed Range Properties Of Li-Steviç Integral-Type Operators Between Bloch-Type Spaces And Their Essential Norms, Maryam Mohammadi Pirasteh, Nasrin Eghbali, Amir Hossein Sanatpour

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

We investigate closed range properties of certain integral-type operators introduced by Li and Steviç. The operators are considered between Bloch-type spaces. We also give the essential norm of such operators. Our results are given in a general setting and we also give the essential norm of Li-Steviç integral-type operators between other well-known spaces of analytic functions.

In this paper we discuss the connection between conditional expectation type operators and integral operators. A variant of Schur's lemma is established and we obtain modular inequalities for a class of conditional expectation type operators.

Curves Whose Pseudo Spherical Indicatrices Are Elastic, Ahmet Yücesan, Gözde Özkan Tükel, Tunahan Turhan Jan 2018

Curves Whose Pseudo Spherical Indicatrices Are Elastic, Ahmet Yücesan, Gözde Özkan Tükel, Tunahan Turhan

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

The pseudo spherical indicatrix of a curve in Minkowski $3$-space emerges as three types: the pseudo spherical tangent indicatrix, principal normal indicatrix, and binormal indicatrix of the curve. The pseudo spherical tangent, principal normal, and binormal indicatrix of a regular curve may be positioned on De Sitter $2$-space (pseudo sphere), pseudo hyperbolic 2-space, and two-dimensional null cone in terms of causal character of the curve. In this paper, we separately derive Euler-Lagrange equations of all pseudo spherical indicatrix elastic curves in terms of the causal character of a curve in Minkowski $3$-space. Then we give some results of solutions of …

Annealing Effect Of Gold Thin Films On The Light Output Performances Of Organic Light Emitting Diodes, Seli̇n Piravadili Mucur, Emi̇ne Teki̇n Jan 2018

Annealing Effect Of Gold Thin Films On The Light Output Performances Of Organic Light Emitting Diodes, Seli̇n Piravadili Mucur, Emi̇ne Teki̇n

Turkish Journal of Physics

Gold thin films (GTFs) are transferred onto a nanostructured surface and their effects on the characteristics of organic light emitting diodes (OLED) are investigated. GTF deposition is realized by the physical vapor deposition technique under high vacuum. Globose gold nanostructures are successfully generated by annealing GTFs at different temperatures. Atomic force microscopy reveals morphological changes affected by film thicknesses and annealing temperatures. In the tailored device architecture, GTFs, [poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly (styrenesulfonate) and poly[2-methoxy-5-(2-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylene vinylene are used as a hole injection layer, a hole transport layer, and an emissive layer, respectively. The performances of the fabricated OLEDs are enhanced in the presence …

On Oxygen-Rich Sr Variables In The Solar Neighborhood, Tuncay Özdemi̇r Jan 2018

On Oxygen-Rich Sr Variables In The Solar Neighborhood, Tuncay Özdemi̇r

Turkish Journal of Physics

Brightness distribution of variable stars was investigated based on good Hipparcos parallaxes of semiregular variables (SRVs) in the solar neighborhood, and it is shown that the order of the variability types Lb, SR, SRb, SRa, and Mira is, statistically, an order of increasing brightness along the red giant branch and asymptotic giant branch. In addition, it is also shown that the majority of Miras are above and majority of SRVs are below the tip of the red giant branch. The periods of SRVs that fall in Wood's sequence C (fundamental mode) of large Magellanic clouds were identified. Statistically, the order …

Surface Effect In Explaining The Elastic Scattering Of The $\Alpha +^{12}$C System At Low Energies, Yasemi̇n Küçük Jan 2018

Surface Effect In Explaining The Elastic Scattering Of The $\Alpha +^{12}$C System At Low Energies, Yasemi̇n Küçük

Turkish Journal of Physics

In this paper, the elastic scattering angular distributions data of the $\alpha +$12C reaction at an energy range of 13.0 to 172.5 MeV were analyzed within the framework of optical model formalism. A phenomenological deep real potential was used with a phenomenological Woods-Saxon type imaginary potential. Excellent agreement was obtained in the high-energy region. The phenomenological deep potential was unable to explain the experimental data in the low-energy region. The experimental data at both low and high energies could not be explained at the same time. In order to explain the data simultaneously at low energy and high energy, the …

Quark Gluon Plasma And Upsilon Suppression, Rismita Ghosh, Aparajita Bhattacharya, Ballari Chakrabarti Jan 2018

Quark Gluon Plasma And Upsilon Suppression, Rismita Ghosh, Aparajita Bhattacharya, Ballari Chakrabarti

Turkish Journal of Physics

The time-dependent suppression probability P(t) of upsilon particles has been estimated due to the screening when embedded in the medium of quark gluon plasma where the screened potential is represented by an optical potential of type $V(r,\lambda) = - [\frac{V_{0}+iW_{0}}{1+exp((r-R)\lambda)}]$. A similar type of variation of suppression probability has been obtained by others. It has been observed that $t_{\frac{1}{2}}$ for melting of $\Upsilon$ is $\sim$ 1.5 fm/c. The variation of the screening radii of heavy mesons $(J/\psi, \Upsilon)$ for 1S and 2S states with respect to plasma radius have also been investigated with the same complex screening potential. We have …

Bessel And Bessel Vortex Beams Generated By Blunt-Tip Axicon, Ramazan Şahi̇n Jan 2018

Bessel And Bessel Vortex Beams Generated By Blunt-Tip Axicon, Ramazan Şahi̇n

Turkish Journal of Physics

A theoretical prediction of the propagation characteristics of Laguerre--Gaussian beams after passing through a blunt-tip axicon is presented. An ideal axicon generates theoretically perfect diffraction-free and smooth-on-axis intensity Bessel beams, while experiments and calculations show that a zeroth-order Bessel beam deviates from its perfect behavior. Strong intensity modulation occurs due to interference around the center of the beam. The origin of these oscillations should be explored to increase the quality of beam shaping. This research shows that these oscillations can be reduced by stopping the beam center for a small portion or by optimizing input beam parameters. On the other …

A Note On Noncompact And Nonmetricit Quadratic Curvature Gravity Theories, Suat Dengi̇z

Turkish Journal of Physics

In this note, we evaluate the Weyl-invariant quadratic curvature tensors for the particular Weyl gauge field constructed in the $3+1$-dimensional noncompact Weyl-Einstein-Yang-Mills model. We subsequently extend the model to its higher curvature version. We also compute the Weyl-invariant extension of the topological Gauss-Bonnet term for this specific choice of vector field.

Chemical Vapor Transport Synthesis Of A Selenium-Based Two-Dimensional Material, Tali̇p Serkan Kasirga Jan 2018

Chemical Vapor Transport Synthesis Of A Selenium-Based Two-Dimensional Material, Tali̇p Serkan Kasirga

Turkish Journal of Physics

Selenium-based layered materials, and in particular transition-metal diselenides (TMDSs), have intriguing properties in the monolayer limit. Materials such as MoSe$_{2}$, WSe$_{2}$, and NbSe$_{2}$ display striking features such as spin-valley coupling at the valence-band edges and offer great potential for optoelectronics applications. Although a dozen of other TMDSs have been realized or proposed, whether two-dimensional chalcogens are possible or not is still an open challenge. In this work, we show the chemical vapor transport synthesis of a novel, atomically thin selenium-based material on oxidized silicon substrates. This new member of the two-dimensional materials family has a unique Raman spectrum similar to …

The Investigation Of The Lattice Strains And Crystallite Sizes Of Y358 And Y123 High-Temperature Superconductors, İbrahi̇m Düzgün Jan 2018

The Investigation Of The Lattice Strains And Crystallite Sizes Of Y358 And Y123 High-Temperature Superconductors, İbrahi̇m Düzgün

Turkish Journal of Physics

In this study, the Y358 phase, the newest high-temperature superconductor member of the yttrium barium copper oxide family, was produced using the solid-state reaction technique. The Y358 superconductor exhibited the Meissner effect at low temperature (77 K). The X-ray diffraction spectra indicated that the crystal structure was almost identical to that of Y123, but with some impurity peaks. An X-ray peak broadening analysis was applied to determine the lattice strain, and the medial crystallite size was calculated perpendicular to the surface of the superconductor specimens. As a result of the analyses, it was determined that the crystallite size of the …

Effects Of Annealing Temperature On Electrical Characteristics Of Sputtered Al/Al2o3/P-Si (Mos) Capacitors, Şenol Kaya, Erhan Budak, Ercan Yilmaz Jan 2018

Effects Of Annealing Temperature On Electrical Characteristics Of Sputtered Al/Al2o3/P-Si (Mos) Capacitors, Şenol Kaya, Erhan Budak, Ercan Yilmaz

Turkish Journal of Physics

The aim of this study is to investigate annealing effects on the electrical characteristics of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) MOS capacitors. Chemical changes after annealing have been characterized using the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy prior to detailed electrical investigation. The influence of annealing temperature on electrical characteristics has been investigated by capacitance-voltage (C-V) and conductance-voltage (G/ω-V) curves. Effective oxide trap density (Nox), border trap densities (N2bt), and interface trap densities (Nit) were calculated during the electrical analysis. Remarkable changes in the measurements were observed depending on the annealing temperatures. The obtained results demonstrate that the optimum annealing temperature is 450 °C …

Forward-Backward Asymmetry Of Drell-Yan Lepton Pairs At 14 Tev Center-Of-Mass Energy, Kamuran Di̇lsi̇z, Hasan Oğul Jan 2018

Forward-Backward Asymmetry Of Drell-Yan Lepton Pairs At 14 Tev Center-Of-Mass Energy, Kamuran Di̇lsi̇z, Hasan Oğul

Turkish Journal of Physics

In this paper, fiducial cross-sections of lepton pairs with opposite charge via Z → l+ l- (l± = μ±, e±) are calculated at a center-of-mass energy of 14 TeV by applying different transverse momentum selections to evaluate their impact on the production cross-section as well as the differential cross-section of Z bosons in terms of lepton pseudorapidity. The predictions are computed by next-to-next-to-leading order quantum chromodynamics including next-to-leading order electroweak corrections. Forward-backward asymmetry prediction for the Drell?Yan production in proton-proton collision is further calculated at 14 TeV using HERAPDF2.0, MMHT2014, NNPDF3.1, and CT14 parton distribution function models. Then 14 TeV …

Investigation Of The Optical Properties Of The Liquid Crystal-Based Devices Via Mueller Matrix Formalism, Ömer Polat Jan 2018

Investigation Of The Optical Properties Of The Liquid Crystal-Based Devices Via Mueller Matrix Formalism, Ömer Polat

Turkish Journal of Physics

A model approach for the Mueller matrix (MM) of the twisted nematic liquid crystal spatial light modulator (TNLC-SLM) was proposed. In the first part of the study, the MM of the TNLC cell in the absence of applied voltage was investigated both theoretically and experimentally. In the second part, the model approach was improved by considering the reorientation of both tilt and azimuth angles of the liquid crystal (LC) molecules in the presence of applied voltage. Comparison of the theoretical MM elements with the experimental ones from the literature showed that, instead of decaying exponentially, the azimuth angle rotates with …

Nature Of Entropy In A Scalar-Tensor Theory Of Gravity, Onur Siğinç, Mustafa Salti, Hi̇lmi̇ Yanar, Oktay Aydoğdu Jan 2018

Nature Of Entropy In A Scalar-Tensor Theory Of Gravity, Onur Siğinç, Mustafa Salti, Hi̇lmi̇ Yanar, Oktay Aydoğdu

Turkish Journal of Physics

This work is devoted to studying the generalized nature of the entropy function in a specific form of the scalar-tensor-vector (STeVe) theory of gravity for the Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) spacetime in the state of thermal equilibrium. For this purpose, we define an equilibrium picture of thermodynamics by making use of a suitable set of the dark energy density and dark pressure descriptions, which defines an energy-momentum tensor obeying the local energy conservation law. Furthermore, we also discuss our results numerically in order to get additional implications.

Isotopic Distribution In Projectile Fragments Above The Coulomb Barrier, Ayşegül Kaya, Ni̇hal Büyükçi̇zmeci̇, Riza Oğul Jan 2018

Isotopic Distribution In Projectile Fragments Above The Coulomb Barrier, Ayşegül Kaya, Ni̇hal Büyükçi̇zmeci̇, Riza Oğul

Turkish Journal of Physics

We have studied fragmentation properties of projectiles in peripheral heavy-ion collisions within a statistical ensemble approach. Distributions of projectile fragments are calculated for the reaction systems 86Kr on 58;64Ni and are compared to the experimental data for the same reactions at projectile energy of 15 MeV/nucleon. We assume that the projectile nuclei capture many neutrons from the targets as a result of the multinucleon transfer reactions (direct and fast reactions) at the first step of the dynamical stage of the collisions, and then the excited spectators are formed during the preequilibrium process (multistep reactions) long before the statistical equilibrium stage, …

Triple Higgs Boson Production In A Γγ-Collider At The Future Linear Collider, Nasuf Sönmez Jan 2018

Triple Higgs Boson Production In A Γγ-Collider At The Future Linear Collider, Nasuf Sönmez

Turkish Journal of Physics

In this study, triple Higgs boson production channels in a γγ-collider are investigated in the context of the two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM). This model has three neutral Higgs bosons (h0/H0/A0 ) and two charged Higgs bosons (H±). Between all the possible combinations of the triple Higgs bosons in the final state, only the following two scattering processes are probable at tree-level: γγ → H+H-h0 and γγ → H+H-H0. These two processes are important to determine the triple Higgs self-couplings gH+H-h0 and gH+H-H0 in the 2HDM. The calculation is carried out for two scenarios, which are inspired by recent experimental and theoretical …

Hyperplanes, Parallelism, And Related Problems In Veronese Spaces, Krzysztof Petelczyc, Krzysztof Prazmowski, Malgorzata Prazmowska, Mariusz Zynel

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

We determine hyperplanes in Veronese spaces associated with projective spaces and polar spaces, and we analyze the geometry of parallelisms induced by these hyperplanes. We also discuss whether or not parallelisms on Veronese spaces associated with affine spaces can be imposed.

On Strongly Autinertial Groups, Cansu Beti̇n Onur Jan 2018

On Strongly Autinertial Groups, Cansu Beti̇n Onur

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

A subgroup $ X $ of $ G $ is said to be inert under automorphisms (autinert) if $ X : X^\alpha \cap X $ is finite for all $ \alpha \in Aut(G)$ and it is called strongly autinert if $ :X $ is finite for all $ \alpha \in Aut(G).$ A group is called strongly autinertial if all subgroups are strongly autinert. In this article, the strongly autinertial groups are studied. We characterize such groups for a finitely generated case. Namely, we prove that a finitely generated group $ G $ is strongly autinertial if and only if one …

Remarks On The Zero Toeplitz Product Problem In The Bergman And Hardy Spaces, Mübari̇z Tapdigoğlu Garayev, Mehmet Gürdal Jan 2018

Remarks On The Zero Toeplitz Product Problem In The Bergman And Hardy Spaces, Mübari̇z Tapdigoğlu Garayev, Mehmet Gürdal

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In this article, we are interested in the zero Toeplitz product problem: for two symbols $f,g\in L^{\infty}\left( \mathbb{D},dA\right) ,$\ if the product $T_{f}T_{g}$\ is identically zero on $L_{a}^{2}\left( \mathbb{D}\right), $\ then can we claim $T_{f}$\ or $T_{g}$\ is identically zero? We give a particular solution of this problem. A new proof of one particular case of the zero Toeplitz product problem in the Hardy space $H^{2}\left( \mathbb{D}% \right) $ is also given.
