Test 1289: Ford Fw-60 Diesel, Nebraska Tractor Test Lab

Nebraska Tractor Tests

EXPLANATION OF THE TEST PROCEDURE General Tractors are tested at the University of Nebraska according to the Agricultural Tractor Test Code approved by the American Society of Agricultural Engineers and the Society of Automotive Engineers or official Nebraska test procedure. The manufacturer selects the tractor to be tested and certifies that it is a stock model. Each tractor is equipped with the common power consuming accessories such as power steering, power lift pump, generator, etc., if available. Power consuming accessories may be disconnected only when the means for disconnecting can be reached from the operating station. An official representative of …

The Coma/A1367 Supercluster And Its Environs, Stephen A. Gregory, Laird A. Thompson Jan 1978

The Coma/A1367 Supercluster And Its Environs, Stephen A. Gregory, Laird A. Thompson

Department of Physics and Astronomy: Faculty Publications

The three-dimensional galaxy distribution in the region of space surrounding the two rich clusters Coma and A1367 is analyzed by using a nearly complete redshift sample of 238 galaxies with mp < 15.0 in a 260 degree2 region of the sky; 44 of these redshifts are reported here for the first time. We find that the two clusters are enveloped in a common supercluster which also contains four groups and a population of isolated galaxies. The least dense portions of the Coma/A1367 supercluster have a density which is approximately 6 times that of the Local Supercluster in the regions of our own Galaxy. In …

Protein Synthesis In Rabbit Reticulocytes: Characteristics Of A Ribosomal Factor That Reverses Inhibition Of Protein Synthesis In Heme-Deficient Lysates, R. O. Ralston, A. Das, A. Dasgupta, R. Roy, S. Palmieri, N. K. Gupta Jan 1978

K. Gupta

Chemistry Department: Faculty Publications

A ribosomal salt (0.5 M KCI) wash factor (RF) that reverses inhibition of protein synthesis in heme-deficient reticulocyte lysates has been resolved from the bulk of Met-tRNAtmet- binding factor (EIF-1), Co-EIF-I, and EIF-2 (ternary complex dissociation factor, TDF). The purified RF restores protein synthesis activity of heme-deficient lysates to the level observed in the presence of hemin. No direct correlation exists between amount of EIF-i activity and ability to reverse inhibition of protein synthesis in heme-deficient lysates. Homogeneous preparations of EIF-i are completely inactive in reversal of protein synthesis inhibition in heme-deficient lysates. These findings suggest that …
