This paper examines the detection of parameterized shapes in multidimensional noisy grayscale images. A novel shape detection algorithm utilizing random sample theory is presented. Although the method can be generalized, line detection is detailed. Each line in the image corresponds to a point in the line parameter space. The method creates hypothesis lines by randomly selecting parameter space points and tests the surrounding regions for acceptable linear features. The information obtained from each randomly selected line is used to update the parameter distribution, which reducesi the required number of random trials. A new Grounded-Capacitor Single Resistance Controlled Sinusoidal Oscillator (SRCO) with explicit current output using two Current Conveyors (CCs) and five passive elements is presented. The proposed circuit offers (i) independent control of condition of oscillation and frequency of oscillation, (ii) low active and passive sensitivities, (iii) use of both the grounded capacitors (suitable for IC implementation) and (iv) reasonably good frequency stability. The workability of the proposed configuration has been confirmed by the PSPICE simulations.

Partial transmit sequence (PTS) is an attractive scheme for peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems, but its high computational complexity to find optimum phase factors is the main drawback. In this paper, we propose PTS based on an artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm (ABC-PTS) for reducing the computational complexity of the PTS in the OFDM system. Almost all of the research has been based on linear modulation formats such as phase-shift keying (PSK) or quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM). In recent years, for transmission of 2D colored images over the fading channels, a new scheme has been denoted as ``adaptive Wiener-turbo systems with JPEG & bit plane compressions'' (AW-TSwJBC). In this paper, the performance of AW-TSwJBC is introduced over Rician and Rayleigh fading channels. In this study, an automatic voltage regulator fed by photovoltaic (PV) cells was designed for use in small power alternators. The design aimed to increase the energy output of the alternator and to ensure necessary current output from the PV cells to support the synchronous generator excitation system. In this paper, a new approach is proposed for obtaining the secondary impedance of single-sided linear induction motor (SLIM) with a double layer reaction rail by using the layered secondary model. The proposed method improves the ECT technique by considering the saturation effect and the non-linear complex equivalent relative permeability. A new low-complexity parameters estimator for multiple two-dimensional (2D) domain incoherently distributed (ID) sources is presented. One 2D domain ID source is parameterized with four parameters, the central azimuth direction-of-arrival (DOA), azimuth angular spread, central elevation DOA and elevation angular spread. This paper presents a new method for electrocardiogram (ECG) denoising based on bivariate shrinkage functions exploiting the interscale dependency of wavelet coefficients. Most nonlinear thresholding methods based on wavelet transform denoising assume that the wavelet coefficients are independent. However, wavelet coefficients of ECG signals have significant dependencies. This paper aims at investigating the problem of Load Frequency Control (LFC) in interconnected power systems in order to obtain robustness against uncertainties. A design method for a robust controller, based on Quantitative Feedback Theory (QFT), has been presented in this paper. For a two-area power system, the simulation results show that the system response with the proposed QFT controller exhibits transient response beyond PI controllers. It is also shown that the transient response of the tie line power can also be improved.

The paper presents a vehicle counting method based on invariant moments and shadow aware foreground masks. Estimation of the background and the segmentation of foreground regions can be done using either the Mixture of Gaussians model (MoG) or an improved version of the Group Based Histogram (GBH) technique. This paper presents a high-performance current differencing transconductance amplifier (CDTA), a recently reported active element, especially suitable for analog signal processing applications. A high linearity CMOS configuration for a CDTA is made up of high linearity input and output stages. The proposed CDTA provides high output impedance at port X and excellent input/output current tracking. A biquad filter circuit was chosen as an application example in order to demonstrate the performance of the CDTA. PSpice simulation results using a TSMC 0.35-\mu m CMOS process model were included to verify the expected values.

The goal of attribute reduction is to find a minimal subset (MS) R of the condition attribute set C of a dataset such that R has the same classification power as C. It was proved that the number of MSs for a dataset with n attributes may be as large as (_{n/2}^n) and the generation of all of them is an NP-hard problem. This paper proposes a multi-lateral shared control concept for robot assisted rehabilitation. In particular, a dual-user force-feedback teleoperation control architecture is implemented on a forearm-wrist rehabilitation system consisting of two kinematically dissimilar robotic devices. The multi-lateral rehabilitation system allows for patients to train with on-line virtual dynamic tasks in collaboration with a therapist. Different control authority can be assigned to each agent so that therapists can guide or evaluate movements of patients, or share the control with them. This study summarizes the design of a Model Predictive Controller (MPC) in Tüpraş, İzmit Refinery Hydrocracker Unit Reactors. Hydrocracking process, in which heavy vacuum gasoil is converted into lighter and valuable products at high temperature and pressure is described briefly. Controller design description, identification and modeling studies are examined and the model variables are presented. WABT (Weighted Average Bed Temperature) equalization and conversion increase are simulated, results are discussed.

In this paper, a new algorithm using 2DPCA and Gram-Schmidt Orthogonalization Procedure for recognition of face images is proposed. The algorithm consists of two parts. In the first part, a common feature matrix is obtained; and in the second part, the dimension of the common feature matrix is reduced. Resulting common feature matrix with reduced dimension is used for face recognition. The salient constraints of the computer vision problems are data and smoothness which are combined through a regularization parameter. In this study, a rate 1 transmitter diversity technique is proposed. The proposed technique uses spreading transform and space-time block coding (STBC) together. Space-time, space-frequency, and frequency diversity applications of the proposed technique are shown. The code matrix of the proposed technique can be designed systematically. The proposed technique needs the channel coefficients to stay constant over transmission of 2 rows of the coding matrix regardless of the size of the coding matrix or the diversity order. In order to achieve and maintain the prospective benefits of sliding mode control (SMC) methodology, the phenomenon known as ``chattering'', the main obstacle encountered in real-time applications, has to be suppressed. In this study, two promising switching control gain adaptation and chattering reduction techniques are investigated, and the effectiveness of chattering suppression for current regulation of PM DC drives is tested.
