The objective of this study is to investigate and compare the effect of cannabidiol (CBD)-containing and non-CBD topical anesthetic gel prototypes on skin irritation in rabbits at 24, 48, and 72 h post-application. Topical anesthetic gel prototypes containing 0.1% CBD and without CBD were developed. Six rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) were used for skin irritation testing according to ISO 10993-23: 2021. Medication-induced esophageal injury (MIEI) is a significant concern in veterinary medicine, affecting the health and well-being of animals undergoing various pharmaceutical treatments. If not addressed promptly, MIEI can lead to severe complications such as esophagitis, esophageal stricture, perforation, and even mortality. This review aims to provide a comprehensive examination of MIEI in veterinary medicine, covering essential aspects such as the basic structure of the esophagus, the epidemiology and etiology of MIEI, and the factors influencing susceptibility. Abstract
Canine atopic dermatitis (CAD) is a genetically predisposed inflammatory skin disease with a global distribution, yet it is incurable. A key clinical sign of CAD is pruritus. Oclacitinib has proven effective in managing pruritus in atopic dogs. This case report details the long-term administration of oclacitinib every other day for controlling pruritus in an atopic dog. An 8-year-old atopic Bangkaew dog presented with pruritus, alopecia, and recurrent Malassezia pachydermatis infection. To control the pruritus, the dog received oclacitinib at a dose of 0.4 mg/kg orally every 24 hours for 30 weeks. The pruritus visual analog scale (PVAS) decreased from …

Riemerella anatipestifer infection represents a great threat to the duck industry worldwide and it is considered the major cause of death in the backyard rearing system of ducks in Egypt. The disease is characterized by diarrhea, respiratory signs and loss of weight. The present study was conducted during the period between July 2019 and January 2021 to examine the prevalence rate, the antibiogram patterns of the different antibiotics and the pathogenicity of R. anatipestifer in Qena province.
