Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

In this research, monophasic, diphasic and triphasic logistic growth curve functions used to introduce the growing of the body weight in Japanese quail (Coturnix japonica) are presented. In male and female Japanese quail, the diphasic growth curve fits better than the other growth curves because of residual variance, autocorrelation and determination coefficients. In addition, the diphasic growth function is compared with the monophasic growth function to study the relationship between these two approaches for describing growth curves.
