The Effects On Metabolism Of Silicon In Broilers, Süleyman Korkut Tekeli̇, Ayşen Zohouri Jan 1998

The Effects On Metabolism Of Silicon In Broilers, Süleyman Korkut Tekeli̇, Ayşen Zohouri

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of silicon on body weights and metabolisms of broilers. Therefore, day-old 30 broiler chicks were parted to 2 groups (15 control group and 15 experimental group). The broilers in control group were fed with the normal (without supplement) broiler diet, but the diet of broilers in experimental group was composed with supplementation of 300 mg/kg silicon as sodium metasilicate. All of the animals were fed ad libitum for 40 days. In 20th and 40th days of experimental period, the broilers were weighed and blood samples were taken from all of …

The Effects Of Reused Litter Materials On Broiler Performances And Litter Properties, Musa Sarica, M.Akif Çam Jan 1998

The Effects Of Reused Litter Materials On Broiler Performances And Litter Properties, Musa Sarica, M.Akif Çam

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of reused different litter materials (wood shavings, rice hulls+hazelnut husks, hazelnut husks, wheat stalks and rice hulls) on broiler performance and the litter properties. In trial, from one day to 49 days old age 750 broilers grown at Randomized Pilot Design with three replications for each of litter group in 15 pens. Average body weight, feed conversion, production indices, dressing percentage, litter relative moisture values were determined as; 2499.36±18.74, 2490.06±18.75, 2453.08±18.89, 2480.68±19.05 and 2473.87±18.94 g; 2.00±0.03, 1.99±0.03, 2.00±0.02, 2.06±0.02 ve 2.03±0.04; 257.05±9.26, 254.08±6.69, 250.92±7.85, 233.15±5.35, and 238.50±12.68; %74.90±0.29, %75.68±0.88, %74.38±0.63, …

Effects Of Different Lighting Treatment On Broiler Performance, Özge Altan, Ali Altan, Sezen Özkan Jan 1998

Effects Of Different Lighting Treatment On Broiler Performance, Özge Altan, Ali Altan, Sezen Özkan

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

This study was conducted to determine the effects of restricted light on broiler performance and carcass parameters. Day-old broiler chicks were placed (70 chicks/pen) in each 9 floor pens which were in three different rooms in the poultry house, thus giving us three replicates for each lighting teratment. In the first three days, lighting schedules was 23 h light (L): 1 h dark (D) for all pens. Then three pens were randomly assigned to each of the three leihting treatmens: 1. Group (control): 23L:1D, 2. Group: natural day light from days 4 to 35 and 23L: 1D from days 36 …

Restricted Growth Of Broilers 1. Effects Of Different Restricted Feeding Programs On Broilerperformance And Carcass Characteristics, Özge Altan, Sezen Özkan, Servet Yalçin Jan 1998

Restricted Growth Of Broilers 1. Effects Of Different Restricted Feeding Programs On Broilerperformance And Carcass Characteristics, Özge Altan, Sezen Özkan, Servet Yalçin

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

In this study, the influence of different methods of feed restriction on the performance of broiler with two genotypes, was investigated. Compensatory growth after feed restriction was studied and the effects of the restriction on feed consumption, growth and carcass characteristics were discussed. Broilers in each genotypes were separated in three groups randomly. In the first group, all birds were fed fully (Control). Feed restriction at the level of basal metabolism were used from 7 to 14 days of age in second group, and from 14 to 21 days of age in third group. There has been evidence of compensatory …

The Accumulation Levels In Some Tissues And The Effect On Lipidfractions In Liver Of Dietary Aluminum In Broilers, Ayşen Zohouri, Süleyman K. Tekeli̇, Ahmet Mengi̇, Esma Tütem, Mehmet Hügül Jan 1998

The Accumulation Levels In Some Tissues And The Effect On Lipidfractions In Liver Of Dietary Aluminum In Broilers, Ayşen Zohouri, Süleyman K. Tekeli̇, Ahmet Mengi̇, Esma Tütem, Mehmet Hügül

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

In this study, the accumulation levels in serum, muscle and bone and the effect on lipid fractions in liver of dietary aluminum in broilers were examined. Day-old 30 broiler chicks were separated into two equal groups. Experimental group was fed with diet added 2 g/kg aluminum sulfate. Feed and water were given ad libitum. At the end of 40-day, the blood samples were taken from chickens and the sera were separated. In same day, all chickens were killed, and liver, bone and muscle samples were removed. Al determinations in serum, bone, muscle, feed and drinking water were done. Cholesterol, triglyceride …
