รายงานนี้กล่าวถึงการระบาดของโรคในสุนัขที่สงสัยว่า เกิดจากเชื้อฮิสโตพลาสม่า ในภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือของไทย มีสุนัขพันธุ์เยอรมันเชฟเฟิร์ดและสุนัยลูกผสม เยอรมันเชฟเฟิร์ด-ลาบราดอร์ ตายลงด้วยโรคทางเดินหายใจราว 30 ตัว ได้ทําการผ่า ซากสุนัขและตรวจขึ้นเนื้อทางจุลทัศนกายวิภาค ที่ภาควิชาพยาธิชีววิทยา คณะวิทยาศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล พบว่าเนื้อเยื่อปอดของสุนัขมีเชื้อรา ลักษณะคล้ายฮิสโตพลาสม่าอยู่ภาย ในเซลล์มาโครฟาจ รายงานชิ้นนี้อาจถือเป็นรายงานแรกที่กล่าวถึงโรคฮิสโตพลาสโมลิส ของสุนัขในประเทศไทย

Anthelmintic Efficacy Of Haloxil Against Paramphistomiasis And Neoascariasis In Dairy Cows, Somkiat Tachampa
The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine
Anthelmintic efficacy of Haloxil (mixture of Haloxon and Oxyclozanide) against paramphistomiasis and neoascariasis was tested in 25 naturally-infected dairy cows by using egg count as parameter. 100% egg reductions of both worms were observed in all Haloxil treated animals from the first through the tenth weeks post treatment no overt side effect was observed during that period.

A case of a natural infection with Trypanosoma evansi in a male swamp buffalo calf was reported. The incidence of the parasite can be confirmed during the calf was 24 to 80 days old. On 130th day of life a biological test reveals a negative result.

Luteinizing hormone, testosterone and androstenedione were measured by radioimmunoassay in the blood plasma of twin bulls. Blood samples were collected every 30 minutes between 07.30 h to 20.00 h from two pairs of twin bulls, Montbeliarde breed 6 and 12 months old. They were kept under identical management condition since they were 8 days old. Mean and range of the concentration of the hormones of 6 and 12 month old bulls were respectively; LH 1.28 (0.75 -4.75), 0.62 (0.10 - 1.22) ng/ml. and 0.89 (0.50-1.35), 0.78 (0.10-1.50) ng/ml. testosterone 0.78 (0.10-2.91), 0.80 (0.12 - 2.30) ng/ml. and 1.23 (0.28 - …

Comparative Evaluation Of Different Stains And Fixatives For Elastic Fibers Of Dogs'aorta, Linda P. Ogalesco, Pisut Mungkornkarn
The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine
Fixatives and stains for identification of elastic fibers was conducted and evaluated. Parts of thoracic and abdominal aorta were obtained from normal Thai native dogs. Tissues were fixed immediately in Bouin's, Buffered 10% Formalin, Zenker's and Susa solutions for 24 hours. Long and cross paraffin sections were cut at 6 um and stained with different methods including Hart's, Verhoeff's Hematoxylin, Taenzer Unna-Orcein, Gomori's Aldehyde Fuchsin and Combined Resorcin-Crystal Violet-Periodic Acid-Schiff's reagent. Criteria of evaluation were based on the high degree of stainability of coarse and fine elastic fibers and contrast in a short period of time. From five different techniques, …

ตรวจท้องควายปลักที่ท้องจำนวน 43 ตัว และควายเปรียบเทียบ 100 ตัว ด้วยการล้วงตรวจทางทวารหนัก พบความเปลี่ยนแปลงทั้งจากการสังเกตลักษณะภายนอก และภายใน จากภายนอกพบว่า ควายตั้งท้องเลยเดือนที่ 3 ไปแล้ว ขนาดของหน้าท้อง ด้านขวาจะใหญ่กว่ากลุ่มเปรียบเทียบ นอกจากนี้เต้านมจะเริ่มขยายใหญ่หลังการตั้งท้อง เดือนที่ 6 จะพบของเหลวที่หัวนมตั้งแต่เดือนที่ 7 ส่วนการล้วงตรวจทางทวารหนักพบว่า เส้นผ่าศูนย์กลางของคอมดลูกขยายใหญ่จากประมาณ 1 นิ้วถึง 2 นิ้ว จากการท้องระยะ แรกจนท้องแก่ ปีกมดลูกด้านที่ท้องขยายใหญ่คลำพบและประมาณขนาดได้ตั้งแต่เดือนที่ 2 ของการตั้งท้องจนถึงเดือนที่ 5 หลังจากนั้นมดลูกจะถูกดึงให้จมลงไปในช่องท้อง ยากแก่ การคลำพบปีกมดลูก ต้องอาศัยการตรวจพบเส้นเลือดที่ไปเลี้ยงมดลูกซึ่งมีการเต้นแตกต่าง จากปกติ เพราะผนังเส้นเลือดบางและมีเลือดไปเลี้ยงมากเพิ่มขึ้น จะพบว่าลูกลอยขึ้น เมื่อท้องเลย 7 เดือนไปแล้วโดยคลำพบ หัว, ขาลูก ตลอดจน placentomes จากการ ศึกษาครั้งนี้พบว่าควายตั้งท้องทางปีกมดลูกด้านขวาถึง 73% Pregnancy diagnosis was carried on 10 known breeding records, 33 pregnant and 100 control swamp buffalo cows. ก้อนเนื้องอกชนิดแกรนูโลมาบริเวณท่อทางเดินปัสสาวะของสุนัขเพศเมีย เริ่มจากรูเปิดของท่อปัสสาวะไปจนถึงกระเพาะปัสสาวะ รักษาโดยการทําผ่าตัดเลาะเอาก้อนเนื้องอกและตัดเอาส่วนของท่อทางเดินปัสสาวะทั้งหมดออก พร้อมกับดึงเอาส่วน ของคอกระเพาะปัสสาวะมาเย็บติดกับเยื่อบุบริเวณปากช่องคลอดเพื่อเป็นรูเปิดของปัสสาวะ แผลผ่าตัดหายเป็นปกติ ภายใน 6 สัปดาห์ อาการแทรกซ้อนภายหลังศัลยกรรมคือสุนัขมี ปัสสาวะไหลกระปริบกระปรอยอยู่ตลอดเวลา A case of Canine Venereal granuloma in the female urethra is reported. The mass affecting the urethral submucosa and surrounding tissues, extensively spreaded from the urethral orifice to the neck of the urinary bladder. The tumour was surgically removed out of the urethra, which had severely affected and impossible to be freed from the mass. A new urethral orifice was reconstituted by suturing the neck of urinary bladder to the vaginal mucosa. Completed healing took place 6 wks after the operation. พยาธิ Neoascaris vitulorum (พยาธิไส้เดือน) และพยาธิ Storngyloides papillosus (พยาธิเส้นด้าย) นั้นมีความสำคัญต่อลูกกระบือในประเทศไทย และประเทศอื่น ๆ เป็นอย่างมาก เพื่อที่จะคึกษาระยะการติดโรคของพยาธิดังกล่าวจึง ได้ทำการตรวจอุจจาระ เพื่อดู prepatent period อายุที่ตรวจพบไข่พยาธิครั้ง สุดท้าย และจำนวนของไข่พยาธิตัวกลมในลูกกระบือ 6 ตัว โดยวิธี Modified Mc- master Method ตรวจไข่พยาธิไส้เดือนในลูกกระบือ 4 ตัว prepatent period 22 - 29 วัน (เฉลี่ย 24.25 วัน) วันสุดท้ายที่ตรวจพบไข่พยาธิ 45 - 84 วัน (เฉลี่ย 72.75 วัน) จำนวนไข่พยาธิที่พบมากที่สุด 101,950 / อุจจาระหนัก 1 กรัม สำหรับไข่พยาธิเส้นด้ายพบในลูกกระบือทุกตัวมี prepatent period 10 - 33 วันสุดท้ายที่ตรวจพบไข่พยาธิชนิดนี้อย่างเร็วที่สุด 59 วันและ patent period นานกว่า N. vitulorum มากผลโดยทั่วไปแล้วไม่แตกต่างจากผู้อื่นทำไว้มากนัก คง จะเป็นผลมาจากการเลี้ยงดูที่คล้ายคลึงกัน ซึ่งจะมีผลทางอ้อมต่อการติดโรคและชีววิทยาของพยาธิ Neoascaris vitulorum and Strongyloides papillosus are the well known important round worms of buffalo calves in Thailand and some other countries. โรคลิวโคโวโตซูโนซิส (Leucocytozoonosis) ในไก่นั้น ได้เคยมี รายงานมาก่อนแล้วในประเทศไทย ในรายงานนี้ได้ศึกษาถึงอุบัติการของโรคโดยวิธี ดับเบิ้ล เจลดิฟฟิวชั่น (double gel diffusion) ผลของการตรวจไก่จากจังหวัดสระบุรีจำนวน 110 ตัว ของ 10 ฟาร์มให้ผลบวก (positive) 22.72% และไก่จากจังหวัดฉะเชิงเทรา จำนวน 100 ตัว จากฟาร์ม จำนวนเท่ากันให้ผลบวก 47.00% ซึ่งผลของความแตกต่าง จากไก่ทั้ง 2 จังหวัดเกี่ยวข้องกับชีววิทยาและการกระจายของแมลงพาหะเป็นอย่างมาก

การศึกษาเบื้องต้นเกี่ยวกับสถิติการให้น้ำนมของโคนมพันธุ์ผสมที่ราชบุรี (Preliminary Results Of Milk Record Of Crossbred Dairy Cattle In Rajbury Province), พรรณพิไล เสกสิทธิ์, ประเสริฐ ศงสะเสน, พีระศักดิ์ จันทร์ประทีป

ใช้น้ำชื้อสดจากพ่อโคพันธุ์แท้ ขาวดำ บราวน์สวิส และ ช็อตฮอร์น พันธุ์ผสม 75% ขาวดำ และพันธุ์ผสมสามสายเลือด (บราวน์สวิส-ขาวดำ-เซบู) ผสมโคระหว่างปี 2516 - 2519 นำผลผลิตจากแม่โคที่เกิดจากแม่โคที่เกิดจากพ่อพันธุ์เหล่านี้มาวิเคราะห์ ในระหว่างปี 2519-2521 จำนวน 62 ตัว จากสถานีผสมเทียมหนองโพ จังหวัดราชบุรี พบว่า ปริมาณน้ำนมในช่วงเวลาต่าง ๆ เช่น ตลอดระยะการให้นมหรือเทียมมาตรฐาน 305 วัน ในระยะการให้นมครั้งที่ 1 ไม่แตกต่างจากระยะการให้นมครั้งที่ 2 อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (P > 0.05) และเมื่อเปรียบเทียบปริมาณน้ำนมระหว่างการให้นม 305 วัน และตลอดระยะการให้นมไม่มีความแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ เช่นกัน (P > 0.05) ในระยะการให้นมครั้งที่ 1 แม่โคมีอายุเฉลี่ย 2.85 ± 0.59 ปี ปริมาณน้ำนม เฉลี่ยใน 305 วัน 2,436 ± 575 กก. เปอร์เซ็นต์ไขมันเฉลี่ย 3.81 ± 0.53% เปอร์เซ็นต์โปรตีนเฉลี่ย 3.38 ± 0.23% ส่วนครั้งที่ 2 มีค่าเฉลี่ย 3.81 ± 0.58 ปี 2,589 ± 720 กก., 3.94 ± 0.55 และ 3.42 ± 0.31 ตามลำดับ

ผลการศึกษาโลหิตวิทยาของควายปลัก 48 วันก่อน และ 45 วันหลังแท้ง ซึ่ง ท้องได้ประมาณ 8 เดือน และมดลูกเกิดเป็นหนองตามมา แสดงให้เห็นว่าค่าเม็ดเลือดขาว ในช่วงเวลาดังกล่าวมิได้สูงกว่าค่าปกติ แม้ว่าสัตว์ป่วยจะมีหนองไหลออกจากช่องคลอดก็ตาม

โพธิ์สยาม แม่ม้าพันธุ์ผสม อายุ 8 ปี ไม่สามารถคลอดลูกตามปกติได้ เนื่องจาก ช่องเชิงกรานแคบ ร่วมกับลูกอยู่ในท่าผิดปกติ ได้ช่วยแก้ไขท่าคลอด เพื่อพยายามดึงลูกออก แต่ไม่ได้ผล จึงทําการผ่าตัดเอาลูกออกทางหน้าท้อง โดยการให้ยาชาฉีดเข้าไขสันหลัง (Spinal Anesthesia) ร่วมกับการให้ยาชาเฉพาะที่ สัตว์ป่วยลุกเดินได้ 2 ชม. หลังผ่าตัดและตาย 2 วันหลังต่อมา เนื่องจากช่องท้องอักเสบ
