Purpose: The purpose of this study is to refine an online rotator cuff related shoulder pain screening tool. Method: A mixed methods item-refinement study was used. The original tool was designed through expert opinion and informal literature review. In this study the original tool was refined over three rounds of cognitive interviews totalling 39 participants. The screening tool consisted of two sections, red flag screening followed by rotator cuff related shoulder pain differential diagnostic items. Purpose: Artificial intelligence (AI), particularly generative forms like ChatGPT, has rapidly grown across higher education. Institutions are developing policies for responsible/ethical use to preserve academic integrity, while acknowledging AI’s role in healthcare to confirm diagnoses and create personalized plans based on social determinants. In physical therapy education, AI can serve a valuable purpose despite documented misuse by Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students during admissions and curricular activities. Problem: Physiotherapy research increasingly requires methodological precision and clinical relevance. Among available designs, the randomized crossover model offers distinct advantages by allowing each participant to serve as their own control, thereby reducing inter-individual variability and improving statistical efficiency. Purpose: This perspective article discusses how appropriately designed crossover trials can enhance the quality and interpretability of physiotherapy research when applied under stable clinical conditions and with adequate washout periods. Methods: Three representative crossover studies illustrate these principles across physiotherapy specialties. The clinic’s dual mission is (1) to reduce disparities in access to OT services and (2) to serve as an educational model for developing student competence, cultural humility, and advocacy skills. Purpose: Labeling nystagmus requires clinicians to consider multiple aspects of its presentation. The extent to which physical therapists (PTs) use consistent terminology for describing nystagmus is unknown. Recommendations for proper terminology exist, but adherence during clinical assessment has not been determined. This study investigated whether PTs with advanced vestibular rehabilitation skills and training consistently use standardized vocabulary to describe nystagmus patterns. Purpose: This cross-sectional study evaluated whether Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer (ChatGPT) GPT-3.5 and GPT-4O provide treatment information consistent with high-quality clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) for knee osteoarthritis (OA). Methods: High-quality CPGs published in the past decade were identified via PubMed and PEDro, with the search updated on November 11, 2024. Guidelines were appraised using the AGREE II tool. Purpose: To determine whether routinely collected sociodemographic admissions criteria (e.g., first-generation status, race, government assistance, youth employment) could serve as proxies for non-cognitive traits such as grit, resilience, and imposter phenomenon in hybrid Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students. Purpose: Organophosphate (OP) poisoning presents a significant challenge in healthcare, with varying severities requiring adaptive management strategies. This case series examines the physiotherapy management of three patients with different levels of OP poisoning severity: mild, moderate and severe. The study highlights the crucial role of physiotherapy in the multidisciplinary care of OP poisoning patients and demonstrates the need for phase-specific interventions tailored to individual patient needs. Purpose: The primary aim of this study was to investigate the neurophysiological effects of dry needling (DN) to the thoracolumbar junction multifidi when compared with a placebo. The secondary objective was to determine if there is a relationship between post-treatment pain and disability and the magnitude of sympathetic nervous system activity. Methods: Participants were eligible if they had low back pain, limited flexibility in at least one hamstring, and had not previously received DN. Purpose: Allied health professionals, specifically, physical therapists (PTs), occupational therapists (OTs), and speech-language pathologists (SLPs), are under-recognized and underutilized in disaster management. The purpose of this study was to investigate awareness, prevalence of engagement, interest level, roles, perceptions, and training of rehabilitation professionals in the disaster management cycle. Method: The Healthcare Practitioner Disaster Management Questionnaire, an anonymous quantitative survey, was deployed to OTs, PTs, and SLPs, licensed in Florida, a convenience sample. Purpose: This study explored the feasibility of using the Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment (CAREN) to enhance visual biofeedback for patients with lower quarter pain, aiming to improve awareness of faulty movement patterns. Methods: Six patients aged 19-66 (3 males, 3 females), with lower quarter pain involving the ankles, knees, or hips completed one session in an outpatient orthopedic setting using CAREN.
