Human Rights Abuse And Other Criminal Violations In Port-Au-Prince, Haiti: A Random Survey Of Households, Royce Hutson, Athena Kolbe
Royce A. Hutson

We assessed data from a random survey of households in the greater Port-au-Prince area. Methods Using random Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinate sampling, 1260 households (5720 individuals) were sampled. They were interviewed with a structured questionnaire by trained interviewers about their experiences after the departure of President Jean-Bertrand Aristide. The response rate was 90·7%. Information on demographic characteristics, crime, and human rights violations was obtained. Findings Our findings suggested that 8000 individuals were murdered in the …

This qualitative study employs participant observation and interviews on farms and in clinics throughout 15 months of migration with a group of indigenous Triqui Mexicans in the western US and Mexico. Study participants include more than 130 farm workers and 30 clinicians. Accordingly, the main purpose of this study was to identify and address the dominating factors influencing the resurgence of dengue fever following a natural disaster such as a hurricane.
This study also depicted an arguable approach to dengue surveillance as well as described existing efforts to prevent, …
