This manual equips trainers with appropriate knowledge on emergency contraceptive pills (ECPs). Emergency contraception (EC) refers to any method of contraception that can be used by a woman to prevent an unwanted pregnancy within three days of unprotected intercourse or a contraceptive accident such as condom leakage. This manual discusses ECPs and the provision of related services. After a day’s training, trainers have the knowledge and skills necessary to train service providers and workers on ECPs. Objective: The Ohio smoking ban was passed by Ohio voters on November 7, 2006 and took effect on December 7, 2006. The reporting of violations to the Ohio smoking ban began on May 3, 2007 with the implementation of the civil penalties for the violations. The purpose of this study is to look at emerging trends in cigarette sales change from 2006 to 2007 for the 88 counties in Ohio following implementation of the smoking ban on December 7, 2006 based on geographical location, violation level, and tobacco production.

Background: The rate of colorectal cancer (CRC) screening in the United States continues to be low, allowing colorectal cancers to remain undiagnosed and mortality rates to remain high. Current literature points to lack of education, healthcare access, and physician counseling as key barriers to screening, in addition to cognitive-emotional apprehensions.

Objectives: This study examined whether cognitive-emotional apprehensions are barriers to screening despite physician recommendation. Moreover, it examined what particular cognitive-emotional barriers inhibit participation and how these barriers can potentially be alleviated.

Methods: A convenience sample of 40 faculty members at Eastern Michigan University were surveyed about attitudes toward screening.
