Berdasarkan laporan dari The Global Cancer Observatory (GLOBOCAN) 2020, kasus terbaru kanker serviks di Indonesia sebanyak 36.633 jiwa (17,2%) menempati posisi kedua setelah kanker payudara dan menempati posisi ketiga penyebab kematian akibat kanker. Secara nasional hanya sebanyak 8,3% perempuan usia 30-50 tahun yang melakukan pemeriksaan dini kanker serviks melalui metode Inspeksi Visual Asam Asetat (IVA test) dan kanker payudara dengan Periksa Payudara Sendiri (SADARI). Menurut Riset Kesehatan Dasar (Riskesdas) 2013, prevalensi stroke pada penduduk usia >15 tahun di Indonesia sebesar 7 permil dan mengalami kenaikan dari tahun 2007 yang sebesar 6 permil. Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) menjadi provinsi dengan prevalensi stroke tertinggi kedua di Indonesia dan prevalensinya melebihi angka nasional yakni sebesar 10,3 permil pada tahun 2013. Excessive sugar-sweetened beverages (SSB) consumption and abdominal obesity have been independently linked to numerous disorders, including diabetes and elevated C-reactive protein (CRP). This study aimed to explore the association between SSB intake, abdominal obesity, and inflammation in normal and prediabetic adults. Sugar intake from SSBs was calculated from 24-h dietary recalls and further classified into non-, medium-, and high-intake. The status of non- and prediabetes was identified based on hemoglobin A1c level. Fruit And Vegetable Shopping Behavior And Intake Among Low-Income Minority Households With Elementary-Aged Children, Eric Brown, Shreela V Sharma

Low-income children and families do not meet the recommendations for fruit and vegetable (FV) intake. This study aimed to assess the association between FV shopping behavior and child FV intake through a cross-sectional study design analyzing self-reported surveys (n = 6074) from adult-child dyads of Hispanic/Latino and African American participants enrolled in the Brighter Bites co-op program. Through quantitative mixed effects linear regression models, accounting for school-level clustering and adjusting for covariates, child FV intake was positively associated with shopping for FV at large chain grocery stores (p < 0.001), natural/organic supermarkets (p < 0.001), warehouse club stores (p = 0.002), discount superstores (p < 0.001), small local stores/corner stores (p = 0.038), convenience stores (p = 0.022), ethnic markets (p = 0.002), farmers’ markets/co-op/school farm stands (p < 0.001), and gardens (p = 0.009) among Hispanic/Latinos participants. Among African American participants, there was significant positive association between child FV intake and shopping for FV at natural/organic supermarkets (p < 0.001), discount superstores (p = 0.005), and convenience stores (p = 0.031). The relationship between location and frequency of shopping for FV and child FV intake varied between races. Further research is needed to better understand the influence of cultural and physical environmental factors. Nutrition education programs are vital to encouraging families to make healthier food choices and purchases to improve child FV consumption.

Objectives: Derive latent profiles of accelerometry-measured moderate-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) for Hispanic/Latino adults, examine associations between latent MVPA profiles and neurocognition, and describe profiles via self-reported MVPA.

Methods: Complex survey design methods were applied to cross-sectional data from 7,672 adults ages 45-74 years in the Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos (HCHS/SOL; 2008-2011). BACKGROUND: Pregnant Mexican Americans (hereafter called Latinas) and Black/African American women are at increased risk for psychological distress, contributing to preterm birth and low birthweight; acculturative stress combined with perceived stress elevates depressive symptoms in Latinas. Based on our prior research using a psychoneuroimmunology framework, we identified psychological and neuroendocrine risk factors as predictors of preterm birth in Latina women that are also identified as risk factors for Black/African American women.

BACKGROUND: Genetic variants within nearly 1000 loci are known to contribute to modulation of blood lipid levels. However, the biological pathways underlying these associations are frequently unknown, limiting understanding of these findings and hindering downstream translational efforts such as drug target discovery.

RESULTS: To expand our understanding of the underlying biological pathways and mechanisms controlling blood lipid levels, we leverage a large multi-ancestry meta-analysis (N = 1,654,960) of blood lipids to prioritize putative causal genes for 2286 lipid associations using six gene prediction approaches. BACKGROUND: The COVID-19 pandemic has imposed additional stress on population health that may result in a change of sleeping behavior.

OBJECTIVE: In this study, we hypothesized that using natural language processing to explore social media would help with assessing the mental health conditions of people experiencing insomnia after the outbreak of COVID-19.

METHODS: We designed a retrospective study that used public social media content from Twitter.
