Background: In December 2019, the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), or COVID-19, raised worldwide concern. Since then, the COVID-19 pandemic has negatively influenced health and wellness across the globe and caused nearly three million deaths. This study focuses on informal caregivers of people with dementia, a disease that affects about 50 million older adults worldwide and requires much caregiving support.

The Hospital Value-Based Purchasing Program (HVBP) is a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) program implemented in 2012 to reward acute-care hospitals with incentive payments for the quality of care provided to Medicare patients in inpatient settings. Under this policy, payment adjustments are made based on a variety of factors including clinical quality, patient experience, and cost reductions. Purpose: The study purpose was to explore attitudes and identify perceived barriers regarding the practice of evidence-based management (EBMgt) by healthcare managers. Method: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted using a simple random sample. The study population included middle- and lower-level healthcare managers at a specialized hospital in Saudi Arabia. A total of 165 healthcare managers were invited to complete a hard copy-survey. This analysis focuses on university student fitness center usage pre and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Background: In Georgia, recent measures have expanded public access to naloxone-containing products like Narcan® to combat opioid-related overdose deaths. Although laypersons may legally purchase naloxone products without a prescription for use during opioid-related overdose events, barriers may remain.

Methods: We conducted an anonymous telephone survey to investigate three potential barriers to purchasing naloxone (Narcan®) in Georgia: availability, price, and working knowledge of legal requirements among pharmacy representatives. Objective To examine the association of extending prenatal care coverage to Emergency Medicaid enrollees with postpartum contraception and short interpregnancy interval births. BACKGROUND: The Emergency Medicaid program offers restricted Medicaid benefits for people who meet the same financial eligibility criteria as Traditional Medicaid recipients but do not meet the citizenship requirements for enrollment in Traditional Medicaid. By federal law, Emergency Medicaid covers care for life-threatening emergencies or a hospital admission for childbirth. No prenatal or postpartum care is covered. The purpose of this study is to determine factors associated with indoor cooking practices and specific vital signs across two middle-income countries, Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. This study used data from Nicaragua (n=76) and Dominican Republic (n=62) (collected in 2018-2019). Multivariable linear regression was utilized to determine factors associated with carbon monoxide levels and systolic blood pressure. Among all participants (n=138), approximately half lived in Nicaragua (n=76, 55.1%) and half lived in Dominican Republic (n=62, 44.9%). Approximately 34.2 million U.S. adults were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2018 and diabetes prevalence is projected to reach 60.6 million by 2060. A predicted 88 million adults have prediabetes, but only 15.3% have been diagnosed by a medical provider. Approximately 15-30% of the population with prediabetes will develop diabetes within 5 years without lifestyle modification to decrease risk. Reduced incidence of diabetes is an urgent priority for Healthy People 2030 and increased participation in lifestyle change programs is a primary objective.
