Background: Diagnostic errors, reframed as missed opportunities for improving diagnosis (MOIDs), are poorly understood in the paediatric emergency department (ED) setting. We investigated the clinical experience, harm and contributing factors related to MOIDs reported by physicians working in paediatric EDs.

Methods: We developed a web-based survey in which physicians participating in the international Paediatric Emergency Research Network representing five out of six WHO regions, described examples of MOIDs involving their own or a colleague's patients. Respondents provided case summaries and answered questions regarding harm and factors contributing to the event.

The purpose of this systematic review is to assess the impact of paid sick leave (PSL) availability on chronic disease prevention, treatment, and recovery. Furthermore, this study aims to investigate the role of race on this relationship as a possible source of systemic racism. The findings of this review show a growing body of evidence that affirms the statistically significant association between PSL and chronic disease-related outcomes. The availability of PSL has the potential to remove financial barriers allowing employees to access preventative services for chronic diseases. Political affiliation has been reported as a determinant of COVID-19 vaccine acceptance in some countries, although few studies have examined the Asian context. This study aims to fill this gap by employing an ecological study design using Indonesian regions as data points. Political affiliation was represented by incumbent President Jokowi’s vote share in the 2019 presidential election. Potential confounders included population density, human development index, availability of hospitals and primary health care, 2019–2020 economic growth, COVID-19 mortality rate, and proportion of Muslims in the population. Urinary glutathione levels are known to be an early indicator of oxidative stress in travelers. This study analyzed the association between particulate matter (PM2.5) exposure on the road and urine glutathione levels in Jakarta’s microbus drivers. This cross-sectional study involved 96 microbuses (one of Jakarta’s public transportations) drivers of nine routes in Kampung Melayu Bus Station, Jakarta, Indonesia. An anthropometric assessment and a structured questionnaire were employed. Obesity and asthma are both global public health challenges. Mounting evidence suggests that obesity may increase asthma risk in adults; however, the association by sex remains uncertain. This study examined the association of obesity with asthma risk in Indonesian adult men and women. Data were obtained from the 2018 Indonesia Basic Health Research. The analysis included 299,837 men and 333,218 women aged ≥18 years. Asthma was identified by the self-report of a doctor’s diagnosis. Obesity was defined as a body mass index ≥30 kg/m2. This study analyzed the relationship between the utilization of the Indonesian Ministry of Health’s Maternal and Child Health Handbook and the quantity and quality of antenatal care to maternal emergency levels. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the global decline in public health status. This study aimed to analyze the determinants of stunting in the under-five in three municipalities in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta, Indonesia. A cross-sectional study was conducted in August-December 2020 with 460 pairs of mothers and children selected by simple random sampling. Stunting was measured using a conventional anthropometric index (length/height-for-age), and anthropometric failure was measured using the Composite Index of Anthropometric Failure. Keterpaparan informasi narkoba merupakan faktor penting dalam pengetahuan dan perubahan perilaku, terutama untuk melakukan rehabilitasi. Rumah kos merupakan populasi yang dianggap rawan terhadap penyalahgunaan narkoba. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan keterpaparan informasi narkoba dengan perilaku pencarian rehabilitasi pada pengguna narkoba di rumah kos. Analisis regresi logistik ganda digunakan untuk menilai hubungan yang signifikan pada α=0,05. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penyalahguna narkoba di rumah kos yang memiliki keterpaparan informasi yang baik memiliki kecenderungan untuk 3,8 kali lebih besar untuk berperilaku mencari rehabilitasi dibandingkan dengan mereka yang keterpaparan informasinya kurang (ORa=3,8; 95% CI=0,7 – 21,5), setelah dikontrol oleh …

Angka prevalensi stunting Provinsi Jawa Barat tahun 2021 sebesar 24,5% dan menjadi salah satu provinsi dengan kategori stunting kronis-akut di Indonesia. Analisis spasial digunakan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat korelasi secara spasial antar wilayah kabupaten/kota di Jawa Barat berdasarkan prevalensi stunting. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya autokorelasi spasial positif dan terdapat korelasi secara spasial yang artinya prevalensi stunting di satu wilayah kabupaten/kota berkaitan dengan wilayah disekitarnya. Wilayah yang menjadi hotspot stunting di Jawa Barat tahun 2021 berdasarkan pola kluster yang terbentuk adalah Kabupaten Bandung, Kabupaten Bandung Barat, dan Kota Bandung. Hypothesis/Purpose: In this report we present a case of a 20-year-old female with congenital intellectual disability, stunted growth, and hypothyroidism. Competitive genetic hybridization (CHG) revealed a loss of 17p13.3, and the deletion was not present in either parent. This deletion has not previously been characterized, but mutations on the p-arm of chromosome 17 are responsible for Miller-Dieker Syndrome and Isolated Lissencephaly Sequence, both of which share symptoms in common with the patient.
