While existing data demonstrates early and progressive mobility helps improve outcomes, adherence remains inconsistent for a variety of reasons such as safety concerns, staffing, and lack of knowledge and confidence of mobilization techniques. To understand nurses’ realities of caring for patients with COVID-19, I aimed to understand the lived experience of nurses caring for patients with COVID-19 in the United States. This is based on a single COPD readmission encounter costing $7,500 and estimated daily expenses of $2,883 (Davis, 2023; Hegwer, 2018). This executive summary outlines a clinician education program held at a community hospital in West Texas to promote patient quality care by encouraging healthcare professionals to use evidence-based chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) care bundles. Eighteen physicians and nurse practitioners attended the program. Then, a survey was conducted to assess the impact of the proposed program. It comprises of 241 staffed beds in the medical-surgical, telemetry, and intensive care units.

Problem: My Clinical Nurse Leader project focused on preventing hospital-acquired C. diff. At Hospital A, there were 19 hospital-acquired C. diff cases for the 2022 performance year. Of the 19 clostridium difficile cases, 12 were related to C. diff testing criteria fall-outs.
