Purpose: Nursing students are prone to stress-related diseases, such as depression and anxiety, which are associated with chronically elevated cortisol levels due to the excessive firing of the Hypothalamic Pituitary Adrenal (HPA) axis. This study assessed three speeds of yoga and how they acutely affected salivary cortisol levels within female nursing students. Methods: Students participated in three yoga sessions cadenced at different speeds in a non-randomized order: (i) standard-speed yoga (SSY), (ii) high-speed yoga (HSY), and (iii) slow-speed yoga (SLSY). Nurses are on the front line of the healthcare system and should, therefore, have the evidence-based knowledge to manage breastfeeding. The objective of this study was to assess the attitudes and knowledge about human lactation among a group of nursing students. An anonymous online survey was sent to all College of Nursing students at a local university in Kentucky. Nursing students participating in the survey favored breastfeeding over formula feeding for infants. Lack of knowledge and various misconceptions about breastfeeding were reported. Two different sequences of blocks of simulated and clinical practicum learning experiences compared the clinical competency development of nursing students using a randomized crossover design. Competency was measured 3 times: after each block of simulated and clinical experiences and after a final simulated experience. No significant differences in competency scores between the 2 groups across the 3 time points were found. Using alternative models of clinical and simulation learning may help address barriers to the delivery of clinical education faced by schools of nursing

The Art of Clinical Supervision program was developed, implemented and evaluated, to determine nursing staff knowledge and attitudes towards nursing students and the clinical supervision thereof. A key point of the program was the inclusion of strategies to promote one’s attitude towards working with students. A mixed methods approach of surveys, online reflections and interviews, was used to determine the programs effect. The findings highlighted a positive impact on participants’ self-knowledge and attitudes towards students and student clinical supervision.
