A critical review of current literature reveals how microaggressions against transgender communities create and sustain barriers to equitable healthcare. DESIGN: A retrospective cohort study. METHODS: Data for this observational follow-up study were retrieved from the Taiwan's National Health Insurance Dataset. Background:Nursing schools across the country are struggling to respond to the rising demand for registered nurses. Factors that impact baccalaureate nursing student attrition must be addressed to increase the number of well-educated and skilled nurses.Method:Utilizing a non-experimental, longitudinal, survey design, the relationshipsamonglife stress, state anxiety, academic resilience and targeted program completion wereexplored withone cohort of baccalaureate nursing students (n=46). Results:No statistical association was found between life stress levels or scores and graduating on target,or between academic resiliencescores and graduating on target. The distribution of HIV cases varies cross-nationally. We separate the influences of Islam at the macro-and micro-levels to understand the role of religion in shaping the spread of HIV. Drawing on biomarker data from the Demographic and Health Surveys, we construct a multilevel database (Individual N= 568,476; Country N= 30). We examine a series of national-and individual-level predictors that may mediate the relationship between Islam and testing HIV-positive. Individual religious affiliation and proportion Muslim retained their risk-reducing effects even when accounting for a range of mediators and suppressors. Islam has a sui generis effect on testing HIV-positive.
