This quality improvement project was implemented to improve self-care in home health patients using video education provided on the tablet-based monitoring system. Heart failure is a chronic, progressive disease with high hospital readmission rates. However, consistent use of self-care behaviors improves patient quality of life and reduces hospital readmission rates in heart failure patients. PURPOSE: The purpose of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project was to pilot Creating Opportunities for Personal Empowerment (COPE), an evidence based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) intervention, with patients diagnosed with advanced heart failure who are awaiting Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) implantation or those who have had one recently implanted before they are discharged home. This study aimed to explore, develop and test the psychometric properties of repositioning practice measures among nurses in Saudi hospitals and explores its components' psychometric properties. The study adopted the DeVellis scale development framework. Initially, the study clarifies the concept by literature review and interviewing six experts. Then a pool of 103 items was generated as the first draft. Over two rounds of expert revisions, the experts accept 61 items with content validity index means ( I-CVIs) equal to 0.91 and scale content validity = 0.81. later, the reliability with alpha Cronbach was 0.98. Background/Purpose: Opioid overdose can occur in anyone who uses illicit drugs, but relationship correlation exists between homelessness and illicit drug use. Between March 2019 and March 2020, 92 deaths were attributed to opioids in the DNP Project state. Methods: Naloxone education was given to a single population of homeless shelter staff. An Opioid Overdose Attitude Scale (OOAS) and Opioid Overdose Knowledge Scale (OOKS) were administered to the sample prior to education, immediately after education, and 3 months after education.
Results: OOAS and OOKS changes between surveys as a whole were not statistically significant (p=0.14; p=0.25). Individual components of the surveys …

The number of adults presenting to their primary care provider with signs and symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) each year is unknown. The devastating effects of untreated PTSD include high rates of homelessness, violence, drug abuse, suicidality and a decreased quality of life. Aim: To explore final-year nursing students’ confidence, interest and intention to work in general practice.

Methods: Final-year nursing students from five universities situated in New South Wales, Australia were surveyed between March and June 2019. The survey comprised investigator-developed questions and validated tools adapted for use in general practice.

Background: Recent studies cast doubt on the net effect of antipsychotics for delirium.

Aim: To investigate the influence of these studies and other factors on clinicians’ delirium treatment practice and practice change in palliative care and other specialties using the Theoretical Domains Framework.

Design: Australia-wide online survey of relevant clinicians.

Setting/participants: Registered nurses (72%), doctors (16%), nurse practitioners (6%) and pharmacists (5%) who cared for patients with delirium in diverse settings, recruited through health professionals’ organisations.

วัตถุประสงค์: เพื่อประเมินความรู้ในการดูแลผู้ป่วยระยะสุดท้ายของนักศึกษาพยาบาลชั้นปีที่ 4 ปีการศึกษา 2560 คณะพยาบาลศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์

แบบแผนงานวิจัย: การวิจัยเชิงพรรณนา

วิธีการดำเนินการวิจัย: กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นักศึกษาพยาบาลชั้นปีที่ 4 ที่กำลังจะจบการศึกษา จำนวน 81 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยประกอบด้วยแบบสอบถามข้อมูลทั่วไป และแบบวัดความรู้ในการดูแลผู้ป่วยแบบประคับประคองของพยาบาล ซึ่งได้ตรวจสอบความเชื่อมั่นในกลุ่มนักศึกษาพยาบาลชั้นปีที่ 4 ที่กำลังจะจบการศึกษา คณะพยาบาลศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสวนดุสิต จำนวน 30 คน วิเคราะห์หาค่าความสอดคล้องภายในเนื้อหาโดยใช้วิธีของ Kuder-Richardson สูตร KR-20 ได้ค่าความสอดคล้องภายในเนื้อหา 0.81 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนา

ผลการวิจัย: นักศึกษาพยาบาลชั้นปีที่ 4 ปีการศึกษา 2560 คณะพยาบาลศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยความรู้ในการดูแลผู้ป่วยระยะสุดท้ายในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับต่ำ  ( = 11.26, SD = 2.36) คะแนนเฉลี่ยด้านความรู้ทั่วไป และด้านการจัดการอาการอยู่ในระดับต่ำ (   = 2.38, SD = 1.14;  = 6.62, SD = 1.87) คะแนนเฉลี่ยด้านการดูแลด้านจิตสังคม จิตวิญญาณอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง ( = 2.26, SD = 0.49)

สรุป: ผลการศึกษานี้สามารถใช้เป็นข้อมูลในการพัฒนาการจัดการเรียนการสอนเพื่อเสริมสร้างความรู้การดูแลผู้ป่วยระยะสุดท้ายให้นักศึกษาต่อไป

วิธีดำเนินการวิจัย: กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ ผู้ป่วยเด็กวัยก่อนเรียนที่มารับการผ่าตัดหัวใจ ณ โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ จำนวน 60 คน โดย 30 คนแรกจัดอยู่ในกลุ่มควบคุม และ 30 คนหลังจัดอยู่ในกลุ่มทดลอง ผู้ป่วยเด็กวัยก่อนเรียนในกลุ่มควบคุมได้รับการพยาบาลก่อนผ่าตัดตามปกติ ส่วนกลุ่มทดลองได้รับกิจกรรมการพยาบาลโดยการให้ข้อมูลและการเบี่ยงเบนความสนใจ เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสังเกตพฤติกรรมความกลัวก่อนผ่าตัดหัวใจของผู้ป่วยเด็กวัยก่อนเรียน โดยผ่านการตรวจสอบความตรงเชิงเนื้อหาจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ 5 ท่าน มีค่าดัชนีความตรงตามเนื้อหาเท่ากับ 1 และค่าความเที่ยงของการสังเกตเท่ากับ .98 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติพรรณนาและสถิติทดสอบที (Independent t-test)
