Pediatric asthma exacerbation account for more than 1.8 million Emergency Department visits annually and has been labeled as a global epidemic as the prevalence, morbidity and mortality have significantly increased over the past forty years (Dexheimer et al., 2013). While asthma is recognized as the most common chronic disease in children, issues of under-diagnosis and undertreatment persist (Serebrisky & Wiznia, 2019). Discharge teaching by nurses during hospitalization is essential to provide multimorbid inpatients with the knowledge and skills to self-manage their health conditions. Purpose: The association between depression and chronic pain is well established. However, few studies have examined the pathways from depression to chronic pain. The present cross-cultural study aimed to test the mediating effects of pain catastrophizing on associations between depression and chronic pain (eg, pain severity, pain intensity) among Korean American elderly.

Patients and Methods: A total of 132 elderly Korean Americans with chronic pain were recruited from elderly daycare centers and Korean ethnic churches in the community. Women with substance use disorder may evade research participation because of individual and societal factors. Limited information exists on recruitment of women with substance use disorder. The purpose of this study was to delineate recruitment challenges among women with substance use disorder and identify successful recruitment strategies. An exploratory case study was used to examine recruitment of women with substance use disorder. Nursing students from Seattle Pacific University implemented a demographic and health survey and COVID-19 vaccine information pamphlet for staff and residents at at our assigned agency in Seattle, Washington. Using the nursing process, the nursing students assessed the needs of the agency using the community resources and information from the Resident Service Coordinator, then formed nursing diagnoses based on this reliable information. Throughout scientific literature, there is overwhelming evidence penicillin-allergic diagnoses are often inaccurate and inappropriate. As this diagnosis can often have unwanted effects for both patients and the healthcare team, it is essential to aim for accuracy when considering penicillin allergies. The purpose of this project was to implement a more focused penicillin allergy screening tool aimed at accurate allergy identification. Evaluation methods included pre and post-intervention electronic medical record reviews. The project also evaluated the impact on total post-tool implementation visit time. Persons with complicated grief experience a disruption of usual, pre-death activities, destructive thoughts and actions, and can develop or find a worsening of comorbidities and impairments. Introduction. Wound care practices for neonatal and pediatric patients have created a lack of standardized evidence-based guidelines for treatments in clinical practices. Unfortunately, published clinical guidelines for the evaluation and management of wounds in pediatric populations is limited. Consensus groups are used to develop clinical guidelines which define key aspects of the quality of health care, particularly appropriate indications for interventions. Tobacco use is projected to kill 1 billion people in the 21st century. Tobacco Use Disorder (TUD) is one of the most common substance use disorders in the world. Evidence-based treatment of TUD is effective, but treatment accessibility remains very low.
