The purpose of this literature review is to evaluate and compare debriefing models used during simulation experiences and to make recommendations for nurse educators and researchers about debriefing. Learning does not occur during a simulated experience alone, but occurs as a result of the experience and the purposeful reflection and analysis following the experience. This purposeful guided reflection and analysis is known as debriefing. The method used in this scholarly inquiry paper is a literature review.

Under the agreement with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS, 2018), state survey agencies assess nursing homes using standard surveys. Several studies indicate that the type of deficiencies issued to nursing facilities varies significantly by state, suggesting inconsistency in the survey process for issuing deficiencies. For example, variation in Immediate Jeopardy (IJ) citations among state agency surveyors has been the subject of reports from the Government Accountability Office (GAO, 2019) and the Office of the Inspector General (OIG, 2014).

Termi nozokomial ka origjinë nga greqishtja nozos (sëmundje) dhe komein (përkujdesje) dhe nënkupton infeksionet që janë marrë si rrjed- hojë e përkujdesjes mjekësore. Our primary aim was to investigate whether gardens were a source of nutrition for the food bank users we sampled, and whether food bank recipients would be interested in using gardens as a nutritional resource.

Evidence-based practice (EBP), intended to mitigate risk, is often inconsistently adhered to by healthcare providers (HCPs) due to a variety of factors, leaving patients vulnerable to adverse outcomes such as ventilator-associated pneumonia or tracheostomy-related stenosis. A review of the literature identified socially related barriers resulting from overlapping roles and expectations of primary HCPs. This quality improvement project aimed to reduce missed appointment rates in five outpatient mental health services through appointment reminder calls along with mitigation of transportation barriers. Studies have established the wide-ranging health and financial implications of missed appointments affecting patients and healthcare systems. During a one-month project intervention period, pre- and post-intervention missed appointment rates were compared, and providers’ sentiments were measured utilizing Likert scale questionnaires. A reduction in missed appointments by 1.1% was achieved collectively across all sites through the project duration. Additionally, provider satisfaction regarding missed appointment rates increased by 4.46%. Project cost analysis revealed that this intervention …

For patients with diabetes in acute care settings, researchers report that it is challenging for the healthcare team to coordinate capillary blood glucose (CBG) monitoring and insulin administration with mealtimes. If insulin dosage is calculated from CBG values that are not updated, patients may experience dosing errors and uncontrolled CBG. Uncontrolled CBG increases patients’ risk of complications.
