Objective: To explore the experiences of self-management in school-age children with asthma.Research design: Descriptive qualitative research.Methods: The informants were 26 school-age children with asthma who came to the Asthma and Allergy Clinic in the Out-Patient Department at Thammasat University Hospital who were selected by purposive sampling. Data was collected by conducting in-depth interviews, transcribed verbatim and analyzed by content analysis.Findings: The informants were composed of nineteen boys and seven girls with asthma with ages ranging from 9-12 years and an average age of 10.5 years, standard deviation was 1.1 years. Hospital readmission within 30 days of discharge is an important quality measure given that it represents a potentially preventable adverse outcome. Approximately, 20% of Medicare beneficiaries are readmitted within 30 days of discharge. Many strategies such as the hospital readmission reduction program have been proposed and implemented to reduce readmission rates. Prior research has shown that coordination of care could play a significant role in lowering readmissions. Central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) at the local healthcare setting exceeded the benchmark of 0 CLABSI. The Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) department determined that a role as CLABSI nurse champion would address the problem; however, no comprehensive education on CLABSI prevention and maintenance was available at the site. The purpose of this project was to develop a CLABSI prevention and maintenance education module using Knowles's adult learning theory and the chain of infection model. decreased well-being, which is associated with a negative impact on nurses’ health, job

nurse well-being by providing nurses with education on mindfulness-based practices.

Previous research has indicated that uncivil behaviors, especially among nurses in the healthcare workplace, create toxic work environments and pose risks to patient safety. Second-generation antipsychotics (SGAs) are prescribed for treatment of psychosis. A major side effect of SGAs is an increased risk of metabolic syndrome (MetS) with symptoms of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia, and truncal obesity. A clinic in the northeastern United States was not screening patients for MetS when being treated with SGAs. Background: In 2010, more than 51.4 million procedures were performed in hospitals in the United States. Almost half of all patients had a surgical procedure prior to their hospital discharge and over 80% of patients experienced acute pain after surgery. When acute pain persists for two or more months after surgery, chronic pain develops, costing the United States up to $635 billion annually. Hispanics, in particular, disproportionately experience disparities in pain treatment as they are less likely to receive analgesics. Health literacy is vitally important for African-Americans (AA), with higher incidence and mortality rates of colon cancer compared to Caucasians nationally and in Ohio. Larrabee's Model for Change to EBP and Self -Efficacy Middle range nursing theory guided this DNP project. A retrospective chart review of AA patients with colon cancer was completed to determine types of teaching methods used by nurses during the clinical encounter. Nursing students struggle to acquire and maintain clinical psychomotor skills. Hiring agencies bear the cost of retraining graduate nurses inept with skills learned early in their nursing curriculum. Improperly performed clinical skills pose a risk to patient safety, resulting in pain and suffering for the patient. This empirical study aimed to determine if video-enhanced debriefing (VED) improved initial skill validation scores, skill feedback, satisfaction with learning, and reduced skill decay among first-semester, pre-licensure BSN students performing female indwelling urinary catheterization (IUC) in a simulated clinical setting compared to no debriefing. BACKGROUND: Diabetes often contributes to many co-morbid conditions and their complications. Non-adherence to medications is common in patients with chronic disease. The project aimed to improve medication adherence through the implementation of electronic messaging. The project was set in a private medical practice within a critical access hospital. Participants were patients of the practice with diabetes.

METHODS: Baseline assessment included review and documentation of HgBA1cs, prescription requests, and past medical history. Purpose: The overall aim of this project was to gather information from two groups of stakeholders, providers and patients, on the feasibility of implementing prevention practitioners in the primary care system to address overweight and obesity.

Buprenorphine is an evidence-based therapy for treating opioid use disorder (OUD) and withdrawal.
