Hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) are a significant problem faced by healthcare organizations globally. The Centers for Disease Control reported that in 2014, 722,000 patients acquired an HAI, and of those, 75,000 died as a result. This project focused on reeducating healthcare staff on hand hygiene practices to prevent HAIs. Preintervention hand hygiene compliance rates were compared to postintervention hand hygiene compliance rates on 2 units in an acute care setting to evaluate if reeducation of healthcare staff on hand hygiene protocols and practices would increase hand hygiene compliance rates. In the United States, the high turnover rate of registered nurses and indications of a future shortage of registered nurses is detrimental to healthcare organizations. The purpose of this correlational study was to examine whether, in hospitals, work engagement and job satisfaction predicted registered nurse turnover intention. The theoretical framework was Fishbein and Ajzen's theory of reasoned action. Probability sampling was used to identify 155 participants, all full-time registered nurses with 2 or more years of employment in New York hospitals. The purpose of this project was to incorporate a caring moment into scripting by the nursing staff to improve patient satisfaction. Purpose: To examine the factors predicting academic performance in baccalaureate students Thammasat University.Design: Descriptive predictive researchMethod: Data were collected from 250 baccalaureate students Thammasat University; using a personal data, the Coopersmith Self-esteem Inventory School Form, the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression scale (CES-D), and the Resourcefulness Scale (RS). The reliabilities of these questionnaires were 0.71, 0.83 and 0.81 respectively. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis.Finding: The study found that self-esteem was significantly positively correlated with academic performance. Only self-esteem could accounted for 2.70% of the variance explained in academic performance in baccalaureate students. The findings …
