Lymphoedema of the ipsilateral upper limb is one of the most significant long term complications of the surgical treatment of breast cancer and may be described as a life sentence of bodily disfigurement. The resultant cosmetic disfigurement, physical discomfort and reduced physical mobility combined with the psychological sequelae, far exceeds the original expectations of the breast surgery patient (Tobin, Lacey, Meyer, and Mortimer, 1993). They had either completed year one in secondary school or were in year two. Their ages ranged between 16 and 19 years. The purpose of this study was to identify which nursing behaviors were perceived by the patient who has undergone coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) as the most important and least important indicators of caring. In this descriptive study, the Caring Behaviors Assessment (CBA) was administered to 25 CABG patients. This research was a partial replication of a previous study by Cronin and Harrison (1988).

Jean Watson's theory of human care (1985) served as the theoretical framework for this study. The CBA items, ordered in seven subscales, are congruent with Watson's (1985) carative factors.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มุ่งศึกษาถึงความสามารถในการดูแลความเครียดและภาระในการดูแลของสตรีผู้ดูแลผู้ป่วยภาวะหัวใจวายเลือดคั่ง ที่เป็นผู้ดูแลหลักและพาผู้ป่วยมาตรวจรักษาที่คลินิก ตรวจโรคหัวใจ โรงพยาบาลศิริราช โรงพยาบาลราชวิถี และโรงพยาบาลพระมงกุฎเกล้า จำนวน 80 ราย ด้วยแบบสอบถามที่ประกอบด้วย ข้อมูลทั่วไป แบบวัดความสามารถในการดูแลของสตรีผู้ดูแล แบบวัด ความเครียด และแบบวัดภาระในการดูแลผู้ป่วยหัวใจวายเลือดคั่งของสตรีผู้ดูแล แล้ว นําข้อมูลมาวิเคราะห์หาสัมประสิทธิ์ของตัวแปร โดยใช้สัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ของเพียร์สันระหว่างความสามารถในการดูแลของสตรีผู้ดูแลความเครียดและภาระในการดูแลผู้ป่วยภาวะหัวใจวายเลือดคั่ง \nผลการวิจัยพบว่า ความสามารถในการดูแลและความเครียดของสตรีผู้ดูแลผู้ป่วยภาวะ หัวใจวาย เลือดคั่ง อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง โดยมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 6.14 และ 1.94 ตามลําดับ ส่วนภาระในการดูแลของสตรีผู้ดูแลอยู่ในระดับน้อย มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 2.21 และพบว่าความ มีความสัมพันธ์กัน ทางลบอย่างไม่มีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ (r = -0.843, p > 7.05) และความเครียดกับภาระในการดูแล มีความสัมพันธ์กันทางบวกอย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ (r = 0.5548, p > 0.001)

การวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์และเปรียบเทียบพฤติกรรมการสอนและการใช้ การประชุมปรึกษาของอาจารย์พยาบาลในการสอนในคลินิก ภาควิชาพยาบาลศาสตร์ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ตัวอย่างประชากรที่ใช้ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ คือ อาจารย์ พยาบาลที่ทำการสอนในคลินิก จํานวน 30 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้คือ แบบสังเกต พฤติกรรมการสอนและแบบสัมภาษณ์การใช้ การประชุมปรึกษาของอาจารย์พยาบาล ซึ่งผู้วิจัยสร้าง ขึ้นโดยผ่านการตรวจสอบความตรงตามเนื้อหาจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ 10 ท่าน ความเที่ยงของแบบสังเกต เท่ากับ 0.92 \nผลการวิจัยพบว่า \n1. อาจารย์พยาบาลมีพฤติกรรมการสอนในการประชุมปรึกษาจํานวนมากที่สุดในเรื่อง พฤติกรรมส่วนบุคคล ในการสร้างบรรยากาศที่ดี รองลงมาได้แก่ ด้านการกระตุ้นให้นักศึกษามี ส่วนร่วมในการแสดงความคิดเห็น ด้านการเสนอความรู้ และแนวคิดต่าง ๆ ด้านการประเมินผลและ ป้อนข้อมูลย้อนกลับ และด้านการเสริมแรงเพิ่มแรงจูงใจ ตามลำดับ \n2. พฤติกรรมการสอนของอาจารย์ที่มีคุณวุฒิทางการศึกษา และประสบการณ์การสอนที่แตกต่างกันจะไม่แตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 \n3. อาจารย์พยาบาลใช้การประชุมปรึกษา โดยจัดกลุ่มนักศึกษากลุ่มย่อย 5-10 คน การ ประชุมปรึกษาก่อนปฏิบัติงาน มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเตรียมนักศึกษาให้พร้อมที่จะปฏิบัติ จำแนกปัญหา ของผู้ป่วยวางแผนการพยาบาล ตรวจสอบความรู้นักศึกษา และแจ้งจุดมุ่งหมายในการเรียน เวลาที่ใช้ คือ 20-30 นาที สำหรับการประชุมปรึกษาหลังปฏิบัติงาน มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อประเมินผลงานที่ ปฏิบัติอภิปรายปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์ทางคลินิกและทบทวนความรู้ทางด้านวิชาการ เวลาที่ใช้มากกว่า 45 นาที สถานที่มักจัดคือในห้องประชุมหรือห้องสอนแสดง และรูปแบบการ ประชุมปรึกษาส่วนใหญ่เป็นการใช้การอภิปราย

The purpose of the study was to identify and describe the coping processes used by mothers of triplets. Using a descriptive design, interpersonal comparisons of 92 mothers of triplets attending a national meeting of families of higher order multiples were made. Variables, in addition to sociodemographic characteristics, included coping processes, levels of depression, perceived availability of social support, and current stress levels. Coping processes were measured using the Ways of Coping Questionnaire (Folkman & Lazarus, 1988), derived from their cognitive-phenomenological theory of stress and coping. The Occupational Health Nurse Practitioners (OHNPs) and the education specialist at a community hospital in northern California designed and implemented the Patient Lifting Equipment Program and protocol. After 1 year, the investigator used a questionnaire to identify and describe 17 female subjects' barriers to implementing the new equipment and protocol and their risk factors for back injuries. The barriers that the subjects cited most often were increased time to prepare and use the devices and the lack of staff who could assist with the lifts. The study focused on the identification of physicians' opinions regarding the role and function of nurse practitioners. The research design was descriptive, using survey technique. Data were collected by a self-administered questionnaire, the Survey of General Practice Physicians' Opinions Concerning the Family Nurse Practitioner, which was developed by Karen J. Radke and Edith Wright. A convenience sample of 162 physicians, consisting of physicians specializing in family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine and obstetrics/gynecology, currently practicing in Monterey County, California, were surveyed. Domestic violence is a major medical and sociological problem for women. The purpose of this study was to describe the incidence of and barriers to domestic violence screening by health care providers in one urban county in northern California. A convenience sample of 71 physicians and nurse practitioners with specialties in family practice, OB/GYN, and internal medicine provided the data. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the results of responses to a questionnaire. The purpose of this research project was to study current practice behaviors of adult and family nurse practitioners when evaluating and managing obese patients. Forty-three nurse practitioners were surveyed by questionnaire. Study results indicated that nurses• assessment of obesity was limited in the areas of body mass index measurement and co-morbid condition assessment. In addition, the nurse practitioners studied did not discuss adjusting caloric intake to support patients' caloric needs. The discussion of caloric intake versus caloric needs in conjunction with portion control is important to ensure weight loss success. Currently 12% of the population are over the age of 65 and receive more than one third of all prescription medications. These clients are at risk for polypharmacy which defined in the current literature is greater than four or more medications taken on a daily basis (this includes prescription and over the counter (OTC) medications). Polypharmacy places a client at increased risk for adverse drug reactions which can lead to injury and death. A convenience sample consisted of 128 males, aged 40 to 75 years, who underwent RRP between May, 1994 and June, 1996 at a 529 bed acute care hospital in a Midwest city.

This correlational study examined the relationship between knowledge of breastfeeding and success in breastfeeding. A convenience sample of women attending prepared childbirth classes in a Midwestern metropolitan area was used. The women were pregnant with their first child and planning to breastfeed. Gulick’s (1981) Information on Breastfeeding Questionnaire was used to test knowledge of breastfeeding before delivery and Rentschler's (1991) Breastfeeding Experience Questionnaire was used to measure knowledge and experience.

Women, age 20 to 39, attending three family planning clinics within a Michigan health department, were screened for Chlamydia trachomatis. A nucleic acid hybridization test (Gen-Probe) was used to collect cervical specimens for seven consecutive months. A chlamydia risk assessment form, using Michigan Department of Community Health's selective screening criteria, was used to determine the client's risk group. A chi-square test with Yates correction was used for data analysis. The prevalence rates of high and low risk groups were compared with no significant difference (p = .18).
