The emergency nursing profession faces a critical challenge with a declining workforce and a high prevalence of workplace violence (WPV), which negatively impacts nurse job satisfaction. This quantitative study examined the relationships among nursing resilience, time elapsed since WPV exposure, and job satisfaction among emergency nurses (ENs) in the United States. Grounded in resilience and Herzberg’s two-factor theories, this study used a cross-sectional, correlational design. A national, anonymous online survey was distributed via social media, using a sharable QR code to recruit participants. The practice problem I identified was a rising number of resident falls throughout the past 6-12 months at a 29-bed assisted living facility (ALF). The organization requested an education program on evidence-based practices on fall prevention in older adults. I used the project question to explore if an education program would increase the knowledge of the staff and caregivers at the ALF. Numerous sources of evidence supported the practice guidelines including fall risk assessment tools. Nurse job satisfaction remains a critical issue in healthcare, as it directly impacts patient care quality, nurse retention, and organizational performance. Despite numerous organizational efforts, there is limited qualitative insight into how nurses perceive strategies aimed at improving their satisfaction. Summary This project was an evidence-based staff education initiative to reduce alarm fatigue and enhance patient safety through telemetry optimization in an acute care setting. The core issue involved the overuse of continuous cardiac monitoring, which contributed to nonactionable alarms, alarm fatigue, workflow inefficiencies, delayed throughput, and increased costs. The project was a structured intervention delivered to 171 telemetry nurses across three inpatient units. Pretests and posttests measured changes in knowledge, intent, and practice. Results showed a 22.9% increase in knowledge, a 92% agreement regarding intention to follow discontinuation protocols, and a 10% overall reduction in practice of telemetry use …

The timely and accurate collection of blood culture specimens is essential for improving patient outcomes and minimizing complications. Contaminated specimens can lead to unnecessary antibiotic use, prolonged hospital stays, and delays in appropriate treatment. At one eastern healthcare facility, monthly blood culture contamination rates reached an average of 4.5%, prompting the need for a targeted intervention. The staff education project was designed to address medication non-adherence among mental health patients in an outpatient psychiatric clinic by enhancing the knowledge and skills of mental health nurses and nurse practitioners. The lack of structured, evidence-based training on medication adherence strategies has contributed to poor patient outcomes, increased hospitalizations, and higher healthcare costs. Black adults in the United States are nearly twice as likely to receive a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and are more susceptible to severe diabetes-related complications. In the emotionally demanding field of hospice and palliative care, the well-being of clinicians is critical. This Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project focused on implementing a staffing education initiative to address secondary traumatic stress (STS). Medication errors represent a persistent threat to patient safety, particularly during transitions of care in outpatient settings. Despite recognition of the problem, standardized medication reconciliation practices among primary care physicians and nurse practitioners (NPs) remain inconsistent, hindered by varied workflows, unclear responsibilities, and knowledge gaps. To address these issues, a staff education program focusing on medication reconciliation was introduced to seven NPs and three physicians in a primary care clinic. Pre- and post-intervention surveys measured participants’ knowledge and confidence in conducting medication reconciliation and documenting medications in electronic medical records.
