With an effort to enhance early detection and intervention, this research investigates the urgent need for better skin cancer screening procedures. Developing and evaluating a multicomponent intervention to improve skin cancer screening and increase skin cancer early detection rates in primary care settings was the purpose of this project. The purpose of this project was to examine hormonal therapy among women between the ages of 40 and 55 within a clinical setting. This project assessed women’s understanding of hormonal therapy for various treatments as well as the risks. The intervention utilized the teach-back method. The project also included the 10 essential elements the provider needs to be competent in the teach-back method. A pre- and post-test were given to patients to measure improvement of knowledge and understanding. It is well known that lung cancer is a devastating disease affecting many individuals in the United States. Through education and early screening efforts, lung cancers can be identified earlier when they can be more easily treated. This evidence-based practice project was developed for the purpose of improving patient and provider knowledge of lung cancer screening and to increase lung cancer screenings in primary care. Furthermore, the Defense Health Agency (DHA) is focused on leveraging cutting-edge technologies to optimize healthcare delivery and improve patient experiences. The purpose of this evidence-based practice process improvement project supports providing educational intervention to nursing staff through videoconferencing or lecture learning opportunities. The purpose of this hermeneutic phenomenological study was to explore the lived experiences of Midwest nurses related to their decision to leave academic faculty positions. The theory guiding this study was Herzberg’s motivation-hygiene theory. The motivation-hygiene theory examines the factors that inform the relationship between satisfaction and lack of satisfaction, as well as dissatisfaction and lack of dissatisfaction. Herzberg outlined several motivating factors that influence employees to perform at their best, and several hygiene factors that negatively impact performance. The purpose of this hermeneutic phenomenological study was to discover the lived experiences of male nurses currently in nursing academia to determine what attributes draw them and keep them in academic roles. The phenomenon was viewed through the lens of interpersonal relations theory, social learning theory, and hermeneutic phenomenology, looking for similarities and differences to discover the population’s views, beliefs, and experiences. The sample included 21 male nurses currently teaching in nursing programs. Semi-structured interviews, focus groups, and observations collected through field notes allowed for an in-depth understanding of the lived experiences of male nursing faculty. This qualitative phenomenological study explored senior nursing students’ perceptions of their effectiveness in utilizing de-escalation techniques. The theories that guided this study were Bandura’s self-efficacy theory and Kolb’s experiential learning theory. Self-efficacy is one’s ability to organize, conduct, and successfully perform a task. Bandura’s self-efficacy theory focuses on individuals’ perception of their ability to perform a task, not the action’s result. Kolb’s theory emphasizes that learning is a process, and modifying experiences creates knowledge. No-shows contribute to high healthcare costs and lost revenue due to underutilization of services, unnecessary disruptions in workflow, increased workload, and scheduling challenges. Mental health clinics report high no-show rates due to factors such as forgetfulness among patients. This quantitative, causal-comparative, retrospective study investigated the impact of simulation-based education on nurse communication competence by evaluating communication skills between two groups of recently graduated and licensed registered nurses while controlling for total experience hours. Falls in long-term care centers (LTC) remain a significant problem due to their association with increased mortality, healthcare costs, and decreased patient outcomes. A major contributing factor to falls is the use of psychotropic medications commonly prescribed in LTC facilities despite evidence against their use. This paper discusses a quasi-experimental study aimed at reducing falls through nursing education on how psychotropics contribute to falls.
