Objectives: The overall objective of this practice inquiry project was to evaluate whether providers in a primary care clinic in Louisville, KY were following the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) screening guidelines regarding colorectal cancer for patients aged 50 -75. The study examined the types of screening recommended, and whether completion of screening was documented in the medical record. Urinary Tract Infections are the most common hospital acquired infection, comprising roughly 30 - 40% of all infections occurring in acute care hospitals (Gould et al., 2009). Objective: The purpose of this study is to assess how providers are managing adolescent patients with migraines in Kentucky.

Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study via a 28-item survey instrument, which is distributed electronically via member listserve to members of the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives (KCNPNM).

Results: Of the 35 survey respondents, there were 29 respondents who met criteria for participation in the survey. Respondents reported the most common presenting symptom for adolescent migraine was headache. This cross-sectional, pre-post intervention study was designed to gather information on Kentucky School Nurses attitude and knowledge toward non-prescribed epinephrine auto injectors in Kentucky Schools. All 500 members of the Kentucky Schools Nurses Association received a link to the pretest, educational intervention and posttest via email. Of those, 75 nurses responded and 72 were eligible to participate in the study. The data was analyzed through a paired t-test using SPSS. The results showed an increase in level of comfort with epinephrine, although it was not statistically significant. A pilot study was conducted that utilized focused patient interviews to determine patient barriers to and facilitators of screening colonoscopy. The interviews were transcribed and systematically analyzed to detect recurring patterns and themes related to screening colonoscopy completion or lack thereof. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize additional sample characteristics such as gender, education level, and income level. Among those who had received a screening colonoscopy (44%, 11 of 25), provider recommendation was the most influential factor for procedure completion, followed by the combination of provider plus family member recommendation.
