The purpose of this survey was twofold (1) to find out what knowledge the pediatric nurse has regarding selected medications which she is administering, and (2) to make recommendations relative to drug knowledge for in-service education programs in hospitals.
The data regarding abdication knowledge as collected by using a checklist form developed for this study and administered to seventeen graduate nurses in three selected hospitals each supervising a pediatric unit.
A checklist included categories, the route, the action time of a drug, and the side effects that could he commonly expected.

The relationship between hypothyroidism and reading retardation was investigated among selected elementary school children for the purpose of contributing to data regarding the medical aspects of dyslexia in order to stimulate the interest of school health personnel. The experimental method was used to explore the hypothesis that a significant relationship exists between reading retardation and hypothyroidism.
Sixty-four underachievers in reading enrolled in one elementary school were selected for study. Physical examinations, laboratory tests, and individual psychometric measures were used to evaluate the physical and academic status of each of the study subjects. In the past decade the nurse/population ratio in the West had been declining. The region was not educating enough nurses to replace normal labor market turnover. The significance of the student's reactions to various educational experiences has been receiving increasing recognition during the last several years. This study was conducted to find out to what extent the student load at the Paradise Valley School of Nursing was conductive to a well balance life and to make recommendations which might guide the faculty in curriculum planning.
The normative-survey was the method used to gather data from the faculty and students of the Paradise Valley School of Nursing. Interviews and two guide sheets were used to gather information from fourteen instructors regarding their course requirements and their estimates of balanced living for students. The Visiting Nurse Association of Indianapolis, formerly the Public Health Nursing Association of Indianapolis, is a nonofficial community agency in Marion County. It was incorporated January 11, 1913. This study was conducted to find out if Paradise Valley School of Nursing is meeting certain specified objectives and to gather information which could help in future curriculum planning to better meet the needs of the students.
The normative-survey was the method used to gather data from graduates of the 1950-1957 classes. This group comprised those graduating from the three-year diploma program. A questionnaire was mailed to 149 graduates of which 124 responded.

Statement of the Problem: the purpose of this study was to find out the current faculty-student ratio in the medical-surgical area in collegiate school of nursing which were fully accredited by the National League for Nursing and the number of students with which instructors felt comfortable in their clinical instructions.
Method: the descriptive survey method with a questionnaire was used to collect data from the study. Eighty-six instructors returned the questionnaire.
Summary of Findings: most instructors were responsible for teaching more than one class level of students and were teaching in a hospital without segregated service. Forty-eight …

The problem of this study was to develop an evaluation form to measure the differentiation in quality of nursing care given by professional staff nurses. It was hoped that the evaluation form could be used by administrators of nursing service as a basis for giving pay increases based on nursing performance.
A review of nursing literature did not reveal the existence of an evaluation form based on verifiable data of performance upon which an objective evaluation could be made.

The purpose of thin study was to develop a plan for inservice education for the graduate nurse staff in a small maternity unit that would encourage optimum nursing care.
A questionnaire was prepared and given to those nurses who had been employed in the maternity unit during the sixteen month period prior to the date of mailing the questionnaire.

It was the purpose of this study to consider four phases of the nature of the learning experiences of students of nursing in the operating room. The phases of the problem studied were: (1) Are the learning experiences "new" or "an expansion and/or clarification of previous learnings?" (2) Do new learning experiences continue throughout the clinical assignment to the operating room? (3) Are the learning experiences concentrated in some areas of learning more than in others?
