The Effect Of Planned Physical Activities On Deficient Motor Skills In Head Start Preschool Children, Darlene L. Robinson
Loma Linda University Electronic Theses, Dissertations & Projects
During the past few years many physicians, nurses, psychologists, teachers, and physical educators have begun to place more emphasis upon the developmental problems of children. As an outgrowth of this, more attention has been given the child showing mild to moderate motor problems. As a result of these more subtle difficulties going unrecognized and untreated, children may suffer from learning disorders, lack of acceptance by teachers and peers, maladaptive behavior and feelings of low self-esteem (Cratty, 1970; Kiphard, -1970; and Ferinden, 1972).
The purpose of this study was to ascertain whether planned physical activities would aid in remediation and/or modification …

Comparative Study Of The Relative Merits Of Core Curriculum And Challenge Examination For The Career Ladder Concept As They Relate To The Licensed Practical And Associate Degree Registered Nurse, Margaret M. Fromherz
All Master's Theses
This paper presents a study of comparative achievement of practical nurses who have progressed on the career ladder through the use of challenging examination with those in core curriculum. Questionnaires and site evaluations determined the more effective method of career mobility. A core program with minimum expectations for the practical and associate degree nurse was developed.
Recommendations included evaluation of the program and additional study to develop career mobility for the associate degree nurse.

Hospital Resources Used As Guides In Unfamiliar Nursing Procedures, Marie Ethel Greene
Loma Linda University Electronic Theses, Dissertations & Projects
Hospital nursing procedures are rapidly increasing in number and in complexity, keeping pace with the continuous advances being made in medical science. This, coupled with the fact that many nurses are resuming their careers after a period of professional inactivity, make it imperative that hospitals provide facilities for assisting nursing personnel in becoming acquainted with unfamiliar procedures. This study was done to learn what resources hospital nursing personnel use most as a guide in performing unfamiliar procedures, and by internal analysis, to identify some of the factors influencing the choice of resources used by different levels of nursing personnel. Following …
