Artificial Photosynthesis To Overcome Oxygen Deprivation During Respiratory Disease Crisis-A Mini Review, Devadass Jessy Mercy Ms, Harini Rm Ms, Agnishwar Girigoswami Prof, Koyeli Girigoswami Prof

Chulalongkorn Medical Journal

Respiratory diseases are mainly treated using several symptomatic treatments, supported by oxygen for the patients. During the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, oxygen concentrators were in high demand, and even after that, many patients lost their lives to this pandemic due to a shortage of oxygen cylinders. This crisis instigated many entrepreneurs to open oxygen plants, which needed a large scale set up. The articles were searched using Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science using appropriate keywords to write this review article. In this review, we have summarized the need for oxygen that can be overcome using artificial photosynthesis. …

A Systematic Review On Niosomes: Composition, Preparation, And Applications, Sanket Gawade Mr., Sunil Attimarad, Vishakha Desai Ms.

Manipal Journal of Medical Sciences

Conventional drug carrier systems are restricted owing to poor bioavailability, weak stability and non-specific localization, which causes systemic toxicities and reduced therapeutic efficacy. Niosomes, one of the nonionic surfactant vesicular systems, have been suggested that value to overcome these constraints. In this review, we give an account of recent progress in niosome research, highlighting their merits, composition, characterization, and applications.

Niosomes offer several advantages including increased drug bioavailability, targeted delivery and reduced toxicity. Bilayered niosomes can entrap both hydrophilic and lipophilic drugs, therefore allowing simultaneous delivery of actives components. We provide an overview of various techniques for niosome preparation including …

Evaluation Of The Remineralizing Agents After Orthodontic Bracket Debonding: A Sem-Edx Investigation, Bassant Ashraf Badr, Medhat Elzainy, Noha Ibrahim, Hend El Messiry

International Arab Journal of Dentistry

Objectives: To compare the remineralizing efficacy of (Fluoride (Fl) Varnish, Nanohydroxyapatite (n-HAp) serum and NovaMin-containing toothpaste) on premolars subjected to orthodontic debonding and a pH-cycling model.

Methods: 60 human premolars were divided into six groups (n=10). Group IA, sound enamel, IB, orthodontically treated premolars, IC, orthodontically treated premolars subjected to demineralization cycles. Three experimental groups included orthodontically treated premolars subjected to demineralization cycles and treated with Fl varnish (IIA), n-HAp serum (IIB), and NovaMin toothpaste (IIC). Surface topography and mineral content were evaluated using SEM-EDX analysis, and data were statistically analyzed using ANOVA test and Tukey’s post-hoc test. …

Preparation And In-Vitro Evaluation Of Dompridone Oral Thin Film, Fatima Mohammed Hussein Wais May 2025

Preparation And In-Vitro Evaluation Of Dompridone Oral Thin Film, Fatima Mohammed Hussein Wais

Maaen Journal for Medical Sciences

The aim of the current study was to formulate and evaluatedompridone nanoparticles and loaded in oral fast dissolve film, for enhance the solubility of poor water soluble dompridone by nanoparticles and fasten the action by prepared as oral thin film and also to improve patient compliance. Domperidone is the recommended medication for nausea and vomiting brought on by viral infections, chemotherapy, migraines, and food poisoning.Domperidonenanoparticles were made using two type of polymers (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose HPMC-K15 and methylcellulose MC-A4C) in a range of ratios (1:1, 1:2, and 1:3) drug:polymer ratio by solvent antisolvent technique. In nanoparticle formulation, HPMC-K15 and MC-A4C were …

Enhancing Topical Drug Delivery Of Apremilast Through Niosomal Gel Formulation: Ex Vivo Skin Permeation And In Vivo Evaluation For Psoriasis, Megha Shyam Matlapudi, Anka Rao Areti, Yukti Jaiswal, Veeresh Bantal, Raghavender Medishetti

The Thai Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Background: Psoriasis is a dynamic and chronic disease characterized by inflammatory changes and an increased rate of keratinocyte proliferation leading to the formation of erythematous scleroderma plaques with a silvery sheen. The existing therapies come with shortcomings in terms of effectiveness and leave behind a trail of side effects. Hence, there is a need of alternative therapeutic measures. Objectives: This study aimed to assess the therapeutic potential of Apremilast Niosomal Gel (APR Nio Gel) in treating psoriasis, comparing its effectiveness with conventional gel (APR Gel) and oral suspension (APR Oral) formulations. Materials and Methods: Apremilast niosomes were prepared by thin …

Ionic Liquid: A Green Designer Solvent For Topical Delivery Of Nano System, Abulfadhel Jaber Neamah, Mowafaq M. Ghareeb, Asmaa M. Rashid

Maaen Journal for Medical Sciences

Ionic liquids (ILs) defined as organic salts that produced from combination of organic cation with various types of organic/inorganic anions whose melting point less than 100°C. Because of their ionic character, most of ionic liquids exhibit useful properties such as no volatility, recyclability, good thermal stability, high conductivity and chemical stability. Ionic liquid cation - anion combinations permits the solvents to be prepared such as N, N-dialkylimidazolium as cation and acetate as anion. Ionic liquid was utilized as solvents or preparation components in various areas of drug delivery systems, also as novel liquid forms of APIs in various stages of …

Qbd Based Design And Characterization Of Proniosomal Transdermal Delivery Of Atenolol And Glibenclamide Combination: An Innovative Approach, P Anitha, S. Ramkanth, S. V. Satyanarayana Dec 2021

Qbd Based Design And Characterization Of Proniosomal Transdermal Delivery Of Atenolol And Glibenclamide Combination: An Innovative Approach, P Anitha, S. Ramkanth, S. V. Satyanarayana

Bulletin of Faculty of Pharmacy Cairo University

There are numerous circumstances where chronic disease is associated with other disorders, especially in diseases like diabetes with noncommunicable disease risk factors, such as hypertension. This study shows a novel and innovative combinational proniosomal delivery of combination to beat the reactions by complex therapeutic regimen, and to improve patient compliance after controlling combinational transdermal delivery of Glibenclamide (GLB) and Atenolol (ATN) which have not been tried actually. To achieve the above reason, proniosomes were prepared and optimized utilizing Box-Behnken design. The ideal formulation was chosen by a point prediction method and formulation showed vesicle size of 562 ± 1.223 nm, …

Nanoparticles are gaining immense popularity in the medical world, specifically in its use in drug delivery systems. The objective of this paper is to study, based on available published literature, how nanoparticles are utilized in drug delivery and more importantly to identify the potential toxic effects of nanoparticles. Based on textual research, it is clear that there are benefits to nanoparticle use, but new studies are showing that there are many potential hazards of nanoparticle-like particles. In order to fully determine the toxicity of the hundreds of types of nanoparticles, a clear method to categorize these particles is needed and …
