PURPOSE: Supporting adolescents in developing healthy relationships and promoting sexual and reproductive health (SRH) is an important responsibility of pediatric primary care providers. Less is known about evidence-based interventions in pediatric settings focused on healthy relationships and SRH.

METHODS: We conducted a systematic review to describe SRH and healthy relationship/adolescent relationship abuse (ARA) interventions for pediatric primary care over the past 20 years. Eligible articles were original research on an SRH-focused or ARA-focused intervention, conducted in-person within pediatric primary care or school-based health centers specifically for middle or high school-aged adolescents. CONTEXT: The COVID-19 pandemic placed the issue of resource utilization front and center. Our comprehensive cancer center developed a Goals of Care Rapid Response Team (GOC RRT) to optimize resource utilization balanced with goal-concordant patient care.

OBJECTIVES: Primary study objective was to evaluate feasibility of the GOC RRT by describing the frequency of consultations that occurred from those requested. College athletes experience high levels of stress and academics is one of the primary causes. This study was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of a study skills training workshop designed around the theory of Multiple Intelligences. The pilot-workshop was developed with minimal resources, tailored to college athletes, and focused on helping them adopt personally meaningful active study strategies. An inductive, naturalistic evaluation approach was used to analyze the qualitative responses of 55 athletes who participated in the workshop. Psychological well-being, characterized by feelings, cognitions, and strategies that are associated with positive functioning (including hedonic and eudaimonic well-being), has been linked with better physical health and greater longevity. Importantly, psychological well-being can be strengthened with interventions, providing a strategy for improving population health. But are the effects of well-being interventions meaningful, durable, and scalable enough to improve health at a population-level? Experiences of stigma, discrimination, or aggression negatively affect the well-being of people experiencing symptoms of psychopathology. However, empathy is thought to undermine prejudice and discrimination and is linked with positive outcomes (e.g., greater well-being, more social support, etc.) among those with stigmatized mental illnesses. The current work investigates the influence of target age (adult or child) and language type (person-first or identity-first) on how much empathic concern perceivers report toward individuals with a hypothetical mental health condition. This article focuses on the practical aspects of converting a successful in-person AAA program to a virtual program in a health care setting including human, canine, and physical resources; animal welfare considerations; training, infection control, and safety guidelines; and visit delivery procedures. In 1992, an interdisciplinary team at Akron Children’s Hospital founded the Doggie Brigade, an animal-assisted activities (AAA) program where volunteer therapy dogs and their handlers visit pediatric patients. Purpose: The Acute Leukemia Advocates Network (ALAN) sought to determine which factors are most associated with poor quality of life (QoL) in patients with acute leukemia and to determine key issues and unmet needs through administration of an online survey distributed worldwide via partner patient organizations.

Background: People have long found support by interacting with animals, which has developed into a health care modality called animal-assisted interactions (AAI). In the past 10 years, AAI has increased as a way to support college students’ mental health; however, there is no comprehensive evidence on the effectiveness of these programs.
Method: A scoping review was conducted using the JBI and PRISMA-ScR criteria. Empirical articles were identified through Academic Search Premier (EBSCOhost), PsychINFO (Ovid), and Web of Science using three groups of keywords: AAI, college students, and mental health.

Asian Americans represent both the fastest-growing population and the smallest group of consumers of mental health services (MHS) in the United States. The current study aimed to identify factors associated with MHS use and explore differences in MHS use by nativity among Asian Americans. Data from the 2015-2018 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) were used to examine past-year MHS use among Asian Americans ages 18 and older. Mindfulness meditation can provide salutary therapeutic benefits, as well as lead advanced practitioners to states of calm and equanimity. In this paper, we argue that such forms of meditation may subtly entrap practitioners in circular, self-reflexive feedback loops. Because these meditation traps fail to clearly discern the operations of mind, they offer a temporary oasis of peace within an unaltered dualistic realm of mind that leaves the root delusion of self-identity intact. The Causal Relationships Of Work-Life Balance, Psychological Well-Being, Burnout, And Related Factors Among Public Secondary School Teachers In Bangkok: A Mixed-Method Research, Gunchanon Khawda

This study is a parallel mixed-method research, consisting of quantitative and qualitative studies. The objective is to examine the causal relationships among work-life balance, psychological well-being, burnout, emotional intelligence, emotion regulation, and psychological capital among public secondary school teachers in Bangkok. The quantitative results revealed that the study comprised 436 teachers, with an average age of 35.12 years old (SD = 9.56). The structural equation modeling analysis found that the model fit the empirical data (Chi-square = 348.89, df = 172, p < 0.001, Chi-square/df = 2.03, RMSEA = 0.05, GFI = 0.93, AGFI = 0.91, CFI = 0.97). Emotional intelligence had a significant positive effect on work-life balance (Beta = 0.43, p = 0.002) and psychological well-being (Beta = 0.29, p = 0.001). Psychological capital also had a significant positive effect on work-life balance (Beta = 0.35, p = 0.03) and psychological well-being (Beta = 0.51, p < 0.001). The qualitative study included in-depth interviews with 6 school administrators and focus group discussions with 20 teachers. The qualitative results demonstrated that school administrators and teachers had a convergent opinion on factors contributing to poor work-life balance, such as workload apart from teaching, urgent work during holidays, the burden of caring for family members, and financial debt. Additionally, factors contributing to teacher burnout, such as excessive workload, disliked assignments, monotonous tasks, and students lacking motivation to study, were identified. The merged results of the quantitative and qualitative studies can be summarized in four topics: (1) Teachers’ good work-life balance affects better psychological well-being and happiness, while poor work-life balance might affect greater burnout; (2) Teachers’ emotional intelligence and psychological capital affect good work-life balance; (3) Teachers’ emotional intelligence and psychological capital might reduce burnout; and (4) Teachers' emotional intelligence and psychological capital positively influence psychological well-being. In conclusion, teachers with high levels of emotional intelligence and psychological capital are likely to have better work-life balance and psychological well-being; in turn, these might reduce their burnout.

วัตถุประสงค์ : เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างความสามารถในการฟื้นพลัง รูปแบบการเผชิญปัญหา และคุณภาพชีวิตในผู้ป่วยนอกที่มีภาวะซึมเศร้าที่เข้ารับการตรวจรักษาที่โรงพยาบาลธรรมศาสตร์เฉลิมพระเกียรติ วิธีการวิจัย : การวิจัยเชิงพรรณนา ณ จุดเวลาใดเวลาหนึ่ง ในกลุ่มตัวอย่างผู้ป่วยนอกที่มีภาวะซึมเศร้า ที่เข้ารับการตรวจรักษาที่โรงพยาบาลธรรมศาสตร์เฉลิมพระเกียรติ จำนวน 110 คน ผ่านการใช้แบบสอบถาม ได้แก่ แบบสอบถามข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล แบบประเมินโรคซึมเศร้า (PHQ-9) แบบวัดความแข็งแกร่งและยืดหยุ่นของชีวิต (CD-RISC) แบบสอบถามการเผชิญปัญหา และแบบวัดคุณภาพชีวิต (WHOQOL-BREF) ทดสอบความสัมพันธ์เชิงสาเหตุระหว่างการฟื้นพลัง ภาวะซึมเศร้า รูปแบบการเผชิญปัญหา และคุณภาพชีวิต ผลการศึกษา : จากกลุ่มตัวอย่าง 110 คน พบว่า ค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนความสามารถในการฟื้นพลังเท่ากับ 20.5 (ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตราฐาน 7) ร้อยละ 60 ใช้กลวิธีเผชิญปัญหาแบบมุ่งจัดการกับปัญหาอยู่ในระดับดีมาก ร้อยละ 77.3 มีคุณภาพชีวิตโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับกลาง ภาวะซึมเศร้าและรูปแบบการเผชิญปัญหาสามารถอธิบายความแปรผันของการฟื้นพลังร้อยละ 26 และการฟื้นพลังสามารถอธิบายความผันแปรของคุณภาพชีวิตร้อยละ 55.30 สรุป: ภาวะซึมเศร้าและรูปแบบการเผชิญปัญหามีความสัมพันธ์กับคุณภาพชีวิตผ่านการฟื้นพลัง

การวิจัยนี้เป็นวิจัยเชิงพรรณาเพื่อศึกษาพลังสุขภาพจิตและปัจจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องของผู้ป่วยวัยรุ่นที่มีโรคหัวใจแต่กำเนิดที่มารับการรักษาที่แผนกผู้ป่วยนอกโรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ อายุ 13-18 ปี จำนวน 73 คน โดยมีครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการรวบรวมข้อมูล คือ แบบสอบถามข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลแบบประเมินความผูกพันใกล้ชิดกับเพื่อน แบบประเมินความเข้มแข็งทางใจในเด็กและแบบประเมินความเข้มแข็งทางใจในเด็ก วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลทางสถิติโดย สถิติเชิงพรรณนา และ สถิติ Chi-square และ Pearson correlation ผลการวิจัยครั้งนี้พบว่า กลุ่มตัวอย่างทั้งหมด มีค่าคะแนนเฉลี่ยพลังสุขภาพจิตระดับปานกลาง ช่วงอายุ 13-15 ปี ส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในระดับปานกลางร้อยละ 81.6 ส่วนกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่มีช่วงอายุ 16-18 ปี ส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง ร้อยละ 77.1 โดยมีปัจจัยที่สัมพันธ์กับพลังสุขภาพจิต ได้แก่ ด้านสถานภาพสมรสของผู้ปกครอง ความผูกพันใกล้ชิดกับเพื่อน ซึ่งปัจจัยด้านโรคและภาวะซึมเศร้าไม่มีความสัมพันธ์กับพลังสุขภาพจิต ผลการวิจัยครั้งนี้สามารถเป็นข้อมูลพื้นฐานระดับพลังสุขภาพจิตในกลุ่มวัยรุ่นที่มีโรคหัวใจพิการแต่กำเนิด เพื่อนำเป็นแนวทางในการประเมินสุขภาพจิตและพัฒนาแนวทางการดูแลสุขภาพจิต โดยเฉพาะการสนับสนุนการมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลวัยรุ่นของครอบครัวและกลุ่มเพื่อน เพื่อส่งเสริมพลังสุขภาพจิตแก่วัยรุ่นกลุ่มนี้

ความพึงพอใจในความสัมพันธ์ของคู่รักและการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเองในผู้ป่วยโรคซึมเศร้า โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์, อมิตตา คัญทัพ

การศึกษานี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงพรรณาในผู้ป่วยโรคซึมเศร้าที่มีความสัมพันธ์แบบคู่รักที่มารักษา ณ คลินิกผู้ป่วยนอก ของคลินิกจิตเวชผู้ใหญ่ โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ จำนวน 113 คน เก็บข้อมูลระหว่างเดือนตุลาคม พศ.2566 - กุมภาพันธ์ พศ. 2567 โดยผู้เข้าร่วมวิจัยตอบแบบสอบถามด้วยตนเอง ประกอบด้วย 1) แบบสอบถามข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล 2) มาตรวัดความพึงพอใจในความสัมพันธ์ Relationship Assessment Scale (RAS) ฉบับภาษาไทย 3) แบบประเมินการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเอง The Rosenberg’s Self Esteem Scale (RSE) ฉบับภาษาไทย 4) แบบประเมินความรุนแรงของอาการซึมเศร้า Beck Depression Inventory - IA (BDI-IA) ฉบับภาษาไทย โดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณาและสถิติเชิงอนุมาน ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ผลการศึกษาพบว่าผู้ป่วยโรคซึมเศร้าที่มีความสัมพันธ์แบบคู่รักส่วนใหญ่มีความพึงพอใจในความสัมพันธ์ระดับสูง คิดเป็นร้อยละ 80.5 มีการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเองอยู่ในระดับต่ำ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 49.6 ความพึงพอใจในความสัมพันธ์ของคู่รักไม่มีความสัมพันธ์กับการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเองอย่างไม่มีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ จากการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยเชิงเส้นแบบพหุ (Multiple Linear Regression) พบว่า ความถี่ของความขัดแย้งกับคู่รักในช่วงระยะเวลา 3 เดือน (β= -0.503) อายุ (β= -0.300) และ อิทธิพลของความสัมพันธ์แบบคู่รักที่ส่งผลต่ออาการของโรคซึมเศร้า (β= -0.274) สามารถร่วมกันทำนายตัวแปรความพึงพอใจในความสัมพันธ์ของคู่รักในผู้ป่วยโรคซึมเศร้าที่มีความสัมพันธ์แบบคู่รักได้ ร้อยละ 45.0 และ ระดับความรุนแรงของอาการโรคซึมเศร้า (β= -0.610) สามารถทำนายตัวแปรการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเองในผู้ป่วยโรคซึมเศร้าที่มีความสัมพันธ์แบบคู่รักได้ ร้อยละ 37.3 เมื่อควบคุมตัวแปรอื่นๆคงที่
