Athletic training preceptors play a critical role in clinical education by evaluating student competence; however, little is known about their preparedness to assess competency-based standards, particularly when using emerging tools such as artificial intelligence (AI). The purpose of this study was to examine preceptors’ accuracy in applying Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) standards and classifying student proficiency within AI-generated clinical scenarios, and to determine whether accuracy differed based on preceptor characteristics.

Aims: This study aimed to explore athletic training preceptors' confidence through skills associated with clinical educator competency domains for healthcare professionals. The research questions focused on the relationship between years of clinical practice, perceived skills value, clinical practice setting, age, ethnicity, and pedagogy background on preceptors' self-reported confidence. Background: The quality of clinical teaching directly affects students' learning experiences, transition to practice, and job satisfaction. OBJECTIVE

For most athletes, their athletic trainer is the healthcare provider with whom they interact the most while for others, ATs are the only health care professionals they interact with. It is crucial that ATs can assess and implement strategies that account for SDH in athletes. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between the number of years certified as an athletic trainer in the college and secondary school settings and perceived knowledge of factors and confidence in the implementation of interventions to address social determinants of health (SDH) when treating patients.

More women are entering the professional field of athletic training. Despite the growth of women in the profession, many are leaving the collegiate setting by the age of 30. While this trend has been studied extensively at the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I (NCAA DI) setting, little research has been completed at the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II (NCAA DII) setting. This study aims to gain insight and understanding into the factors that affect female certified athletic trainer retention and attrition in the NCAA DII setting.

PURPOSE As the athletic training profession advances, master’s degree accreditation standards aim to position athletic trainers as key players on interprofessional healthcare teams. Interprofessional education standards were recently introduced to academic leaders as key elements in the professional healthcare education of athletic trainers.

Purpose: Dry needling is an advanced practice skill that many athletic trainers are being trained to perform. The purpose of this study is to determine the degree to which the current athletic training educational competencies and standards prepare practitioners for the performance of dry needling tasks. Methods: An expert panel review was used to verify which of the dry needling tasks are currently taught through entry-level athletic education as defined by the 5^th edition competencies and 2020 standards. Background: There is continued controversy related to flexibility gains from different stretching protocols and within single protocols. Stretching methods include static, ballistic, dynamic, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF). A combination of stretching methods may be an improved way to increase active knee range of motion (ROM). This study evaluated a single program formulated with static and ballistic components. Objective: To compare active knee ROM following stretching programs which either included combined static and ballistic stretching (CSBS) or static stretching (SS) alone.
