Introduction: Patients with concussion may benefit from care provided by professionals from multiple disciplines based on the constellation of symptoms being reported. This study analyzed referral patterns from primary care and sports medicine clinicians for pediatric patients with sports-related concussion in one health care system.
Methods: A retrospective chart review identified referrals placed to physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, optometry, psychology, neuropsychology, audiology, neurology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, psychiatry, and sports medicine for pediatric patients with sports-related concussion. Skeletal muscle is a highly plastic tissue that can alter its metabolic and contractile features, as well as regenerative potential in response to exercise and other conditions. Multiple signaling factors including metabolites, kinases, receptors, and transcriptional factors have been studied in the regulation of skeletal muscle plasticity. Recently, estrogen-related receptors (ERRs) have emerged as a critical transcriptional hub in control of skeletal muscle homeostasis. ERRα and ERRγ - the two highly expressed ERR sub-types in the muscle respond to various extracellular cues such as exercise, hypoxia, fasting and dietary factors, in turn regulating gene expression in the skeletal muscle. Carpal tunnel syndrome is a syndrome that occurs in 1-4% of the total population worldwide. This condition causes disruption of function and motion in the wrist that spreads to the fingers. Purpose: The majority of athletic trainers (ATs) recognize the importance of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in clinical practice but encounter unique barriers that limit their implementation. There are no studies that have investigated PROs in the military setting. PURPOSE: Establishing the psychometric reliability and validity of new measures is an ongoing process. More work is needed in to confirm the clinical utility of the TBI-CareQOL measurement development system in both an independent cohort of caregivers of traumatic brain injury (TBI), as well as in additional caregiver groups.

Introduction: This study investigated the differences in ACTN3, ACE and ADRB3 variants in top-level soccer players who entered the Croatian National Team and the ones who did not but played for two best Croatian teams. Material and Methods: The buccal swabs were collected from 56 soccer players playing for the Croatian National Team (N = 31) and/or for one of the two most prestigious Croatian soccer clubs (N = 25). Acetabular labral tears have shown to be difficult to diagnose and manage in an active and competitive athletic population. The goal of this study was to compare NCAA Division 1 collegiate athletes undergoing operative and non-operative management of their labral injuries by assessing ability to return to competition and secondarily evaluate days lost from sport. A retrospective cohort analysis was conducted on Division 1 collegiate athletes from 2005 to 2020, incorporating all varsity university sports. The etiology of the molecular mechanisms of rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is poorly understood, and many external and internal factors have been associated with it, including genetics. Background: Adaptive downhill skiing has been described as a fun, safe, engaging recreational activity for those with disabilities (Sterba, 2006). There are numerous ways the alpine skiing can be modified to meet these athletes’ needs. For instance, athletes can use tethered skis, horizontal poles held by their instructors, or modified walkers. For those that have poor standing balance, or are non-ambulatory, sit-skis are an option, with or without outriggers to add additional support and balance for athletes with poor trunk stability or core strength. Introduction: This study aimed to determine the variables that predict whether WHO's global recommendation for physical activity (PA) before and during the COVID-19 pandemic can be met among adults. Material and Methods: A total of 921 adults voluntarily participated in this study. A demographic information form and the Physical Activity Assessment Questionnaire for Turkish people were administered by self-report. The participants were also asked whether they regularly do PA and if the duration of PA is over 150 minutes. OBJECTIVE
Sudden cardiac death (SCD) is one of the leading causes of death in athletics, despite athletic trainers working as first responders for athletic events. The purpose of this study was to assess athletic trainers’ knowledge of SCD, and to analyze perceptions regarding evidence-based practice. This study aimed to answer how the NATA position statement has impacted athletic trainers practice, and to identify potential limitations in implementing best practice.

OBJECTIVE
For most athletes, their athletic trainer is the healthcare provider with whom they interact the most while for others, ATs are the only health care professionals they interact with. It is crucial that ATs can assess and implement strategies that account for SDH in athletes. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between the number of years certified as an athletic trainer in the college and secondary school settings and perceived knowledge of factors and confidence in the implementation of interventions to address social determinants of health (SDH) when treating patients.

In all activities that require physical movement, whether in athletics or in other daily tasks, it is important for joints to have adequate range of motion and flexibility. Soft tissue restrictions are very common pathologies in healthcare. Although a decrease in myofascial range of motion can arise from a variety of reasons such as biomechanical deformities, autoimmune diseases, or age, it is often caused by overtraining or musculoskeletal injuries in active populations. CLINICAL SCENARIO
Police, fire, emergency medical services, and military personnel encompass a tactical population that is considered an emerging setting in athletic training.Due to the occupational demands within this demographic, these patients are experiencing musculoskeletal injuries and injuries that withhold them from career duties at an alarming rate. One of the main contributors to the incidence of musculoskeletal injury is a lack of functional movement.1-3 Incorporating corrective functional movement programs should be a primary goal in treating tactical populations.
