Purpose: Negative acts (NA), including work-related bullying, person-related bullying, and physical intimidation, are inappropriate behaviors that should not occur in workplaces or schools. Healthcare students may be exposed to these experiences during their training, although exposure may vary across demographics. This study aimed to assess self-reported NA and the emotional well-being among healthcare students from different family immigration backgrounds at a Hispanic-serving institution on the U.S.–Mexico border and to explore potential associations between NA exposure and demographic characteristics. Retention of foundational sciences and application into clinical reasoning remains a challenge in podiatric medical and surgical education, particularly as students transition into clinicals and prepare for externships, board examinations, and residency. The goal of this intervention within the longitudinal lower extremity case-based curriculum is to emphasize recall through application of physical examination findings, imaging interpretation, development of differential diagnoses, pathology severity classification, determination of surgical indications, ethical justification of operative intervention, and patient-centered informed consent discussions. Gastrocnemius equinus contracture plays a role in a multitude of patient pathologies, conditions, and deformities seen in podiatric medicine (Barrett, 2011). Equinus deformity is associated with over 96% of the biomechanically-related foot and ankle pathologies including hallux valgus, metatarsalgia, capsulitis, pes planus, plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, and others (Deheer, 2015). These pathologies are linked with a decreased range of motion in the ankle joint specifically in dorsiflexion. The effectiveness of the Hapad Longitudinal Metatarsal Arch Pad (HLMAP) to correct for pronation was investigated using 30 female volunteer student subjects. The investigation consisted of measuring ground reaction forces measured by a force plate and rear foot angle (RFA) measured by video digitization. The repeated measures design consisted of l grouping variable with 3 levels, supinators, mildpronators, and over pronators, and 2 research variables, 10 trials, and pad/no-pad. The results indicated (a) no significant difference for medial or lateral force, propulsive force, vertic al thrust, negative torque among groups, or between pad/no-pad; (b) a significant difference was found for …
