Background: In 1969, Bartels et al. presented the initial description of gluteal augmentation using a breast Cronin prosthesis to treat buttock asymmetry. In recent decades, gluteal fat grafting has seen one of the fastest-growing rates of any cosmetic surgery technique. Objectives: Analyze the published techniques of autologous fat transfer for Buttock augmentation (BBL), and compare different protocols to identify which technique is better in safety and effectiveness over the last 5 years, with demonstration of clinical cases.
