Cryolipolysis (CoolSculpting®) is a Food and Drug Administration-cleared noninvasive fat-reduction technique that has gained popularity in recent years given its reduced cost, risk of adverse effects, and recovery time relative to traditional invasive methods, such as liposuction. Despite this low incidence of adverse effects, there have been increasing reports of a rare aesthetically displeasing phenomenon termed paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH).
