This qualitative study aimed to address the gap in the research related to end-of-life counseling by exploring the experiences of counselors working with clients at end of life. While counseling literature and education are lacking regarding end of life, many counselors will work alongside clients approaching death. Multiple myeloma (MM) is a relatively uncommon neoplastic proliferation of monoclonal plasma cells. Common manifestations are related to infiltration of plasma cells into bones and other organs, causing an increased total serum protein concentration, hypercalcemia, kidney injury, and anemia. The most common type of MM is IgG Kappa, and the second most common type is the IgA subtype. Hyperviscosity (HVS) is a rare presentation of MM and management includes prompt plasmapheresis, resulting in significant reduction of serum viscosity and symptomatic relief. We present a case of IgA Lambda MM presenting with HVS.

Purpose: The impact of central nervous system (CNS) prophylaxis in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is contentious. The CNS International Prognostic Index (IPI) calculator offers prognostic guidance in identifying those patients who may be at highest risk of disease progression or relapse to the CNS. However, it is unclear whether this tool has guided clinician decision-making in a real-world setting. Studies have suggested that CNS prophylaxis may not offer clinically significant benefit in terms of preventing CNS disease progression. This article will describe a case of end-stage cancer with persistent elevation of leukocyte, neutrophil, and procalcitonin with no evidence of infection. A 45-year-old female presented with abdominal distension for three months prior to hospital admission. These findings are compared with established diagnostic criteria for adrenal adenomas and metastases, as identified by the literature and content expert review. Adult cancer survivors represent an important–and growing–population that could benefit from counseling services. This study employed consensual qualitative research to examine the well-being experiences of eight cancer survivors. Findings suggest a broad range of changes to individual well-being following cancer diagnosis and treatment, and indicate counseling can provide an ideal setting for processing such changes. Recommendations for counseling practice and future research are provided.

Comprehensive database searches were conducted across Web of Science, PubMed, Reaxys, ScienceDirect, and Scopus. Results. This systematic review aimed at evaluating the proportion of primary and secondary endpoints in hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) phase III randomized clinical trials (RCTs) and their trends over time and by study sponsorship status. Chi-square test and logistic regression analyses were performed using SPSS version 28. A total of 147 HSCT phase III RCTs from 2006-2021 that reported 197 primary and 600 secondary endpoints were included for the analysis.
