Purpose: To report the long-term outcome in lymph nodal-metastatic cervical squamous cell cancer after chemoradiation followed by adjuvant chemotherapy.
Patients and Methods: Between 2010 and 2013, five patients were diagnosed with advanced cervical cancer with clinically involved para-aortic lymph nodes (ie, International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stage IVB). These patients were treated with concurrent chemoradiation therapy followed by adjuvant chemotherapy. Concurrent chemoradiation consisted of cisplatin given once per week concomitantly with extended-field radiation therapy followed by high-dose-rate brachytherapy. Adjuvant chemotherapy comprised four courses of carboplatin and paclitaxel given every three weeks. The primary outcomes were local and distant failures. …

We present a case of a 14-year-old girl who was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma in 2014. She was managed with chemotherapy and remained in remission for 3 years. On her surveillance imaging in 2017, a left-sided renal neoplastic mass was incidentally discovered. She underwent nephrectomy and pathology of the resected specimen revealed small cell tumour of the kidney with features favouring renal Ewing sarcoma/primitive neuroectodermal tumour. Molecular genetic analysis by fluorescence in situ hybridisation was performed which showed translocation of 22q12, thereby confirming the diagnosis. Primary thyroid lymphoma (PTL) is an uncommon malignancy of the thyroid gland, with most lymphomas of the thyroid being almost exclusively of the non-Hodgkin's B cell variety. PTL requires a prompt diagnosis because of its ability to cause progressive compression symptoms, and its unusual presentation can make the diagnosis very challenging. Herein, we present a case of PTL in a young woman with an uncommon initial presentation and discuss the complications she faced during the surgery, as well as postoperatively, due to the compression of the trachea by the thyroid mass.

Tumor lysis syndrome is a potentially lethal complication of chemotherapy, usually associated with aggressive hematologic malignancies. We describe the case of a young patient with meta-static hepatocellular cancer who developed rapid and fatal tumor lysis syndrome following ini-tiation of sorafenib therapy. Although rare with sorafenib therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma, tumor lysis syndrome is serious complication. Objective: This study aimed to explore the experiences of female breast cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy (RT) in a public hospital in Peshawar, Pakistan.
Methods: This study employed a descriptive exploratory method. A purposive sample of 14 breast cancer women undergoing RT was selected for this study. Data were collected over the period of 5 months, using a semi-structured interview guide and conducting in-depth face-to-face interviews. These interviews were audio taped and transcribed by a bilingual transcriber. The translated version of the interview was coded, and the analysis was done manually.

Introduction: Data examiningmammographic breast density (MBD) among patients in Sub-Saharan Africa are sparse.We evaluated how MBD relates to breast cancer characteristics in Kenyan women undergoing diagnostic mammography.

Methods: This crosssectional study included women with pathologically confirmed breast cancers (𝑛 = 123). Pretreatment mammograms of the unaffectedbreast were assessed to estimate absolute dense area (cm2), nondense area (cm2), and percent density (PD). Relationships between density measurements and clinical characteristics were evaluated using analysis of covariance.

Results: Median PD and dense area were 24.9% and 85.3 cm2. Higher PD and dense area were observed in younger women (𝑃 < 0.01). Higher dense and nondense areas were observed in obese women (𝑃-trend < 0.01). Estrogen receptor (ER) positive patients (73%) had higher PD and dense area than ER-negative patients (𝑃 ≤ 0.02). Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients (17%) had lower PD and dense area (𝑃 ≤ 0.01) compared with non-TNBCs. No associations were observed between MBD and tumor size and grade.
